That is good to hear since I have never used them before. I did use Springfields customer service once, and they not only took in my pistol and did a great Armory coat on it to my specifications, they sent it thru the custom shop FREE! It was a SA Champion in 45acp and when I got it back, it had NEW tritium sights on it, a nice trigger job and looked slick. It was the first pistol they did in OD and black and they told me they were going to start doing a standard pistol in this finish because mine looked so cool!

Just traded my buddy a duplicate Ruger LCP I had for this 870 (along with 1000 200gr hollowpoint .45 bullets, a Lyman reloading guide, 2 bottles of powder and some other goodies).

The 870 was in a state of abuse. He picked it up from someone who had put camo stickers all over it. When he got it he put the 18" barrel on another 870 and a brand new 28" on this one.

I got it home, removed the stickers and it had an awful residue left all over it. After a lot of elbow grease, I took it down to the bare wood. I used some of my wife's homemade stain to bring out the checkering then refinished the wood. I now have a decent shotgun for bird hunting or shooting clays. It is a 1994 model.

Just picked up one of these:

Going to put one of these on it:

This might tenderize my shoulder meat a bit. That .338 makes a .308 look like a pop gun round.

GOOD JOB, now that's how a shotgun should look like!!

I also went with wood with my Mossberg 590A1..
but I sanded down and just gave it a bad of used motor oil to the wood.

Don't worry about the recoil. With a decent brake, most .338LM will exhibit less felt recoil than a bare muzzle .308. My 11yr old niece can shoot my .338LM on a bench without complaint. On the flip side, the muzzle blast will make you the most unpopular guy at the range. You can blow the hats off everyone within 20' on either side. :)

People in the know hate that style brake at the ranges. In fact, some ranges will not allow you to shoot a so equipped rifle anywhere near other shooters. Our range makes those with them shoot at the far lanes.

I'm very intrigued by the Eliminator 3 mentioned above. Anybody got any real world experience with that scope?

My rifle with a muzzle-brake was a .300 Win-Mag. The brake is mostly a noise maker on a bolt gun. No real advantage in my opinion.
