Where around here can I get an ape costume......

Is that one of the WWII issue German models that is S for "schiesen"and F for "fest"? Just recalling stories of GIs shooting themselves and buddies because they couldn't understand that the Germans didn't use the same letters as their 1911s.

So my CA DROS finally cleared with no explanation from the DOJ.

Procured my 1942 Russian Mosin-Nagant with original cleaning kit and matching serial numbers. (well, all match except the bayonet)

Also picked up my P239, but having a bit of buyers remorse. I should have looked at the S&W Shield in .40cal. The P239 is nice, but I'm not a fan of the decocker and it's almost as big as my full-sized XD-40. Ahh well, one can never have too many, right?

Haven't shot them yet, range was having a trap day when I went...

Those Mosin Nagants are surprisingly accurate. I recently purchased one and with my loads it is shooting 3/4-inch groups at 50 yards.

I believe that it had more to do with the fact that it's a decocking lever rather than a safety. DA autos were fairly rare in the US before WWII, and very few individuals had had any experience with them. In addition, the hammer block function was very fragile and if it broke, the gun would fire when the decocker was used to drop the hammer. The majority of US draftees had no real previous contact with firearms and only had knowledge of those that they trained with in the service.

I don't know if this has been covered, but I kind of have a itch for a pistol cal carbine. The price on the hi-point is great but seams to get mixed reviews. Any suggestions?

3x the price of the Hi-Point, is it worth the extra change? At that price we are getting in cheap AR territory

I got to shoot my modified hipoint the other day, it was great.. no hiccups in about 150 rounds. They kind of are what they are, cheap, reliable nothing fancy. 10rnd's is kind of a drag. I think they offer alot for the money. It's $300 worth of carbine.

check out nut n fancy review

The Beretta is on a whole different playing field, I've never shot one but the build quality is obviously much greater, higher capacity double stack mags too. LGS had several in stock for $799

Love the 995ts but also like the classic M1 30cal carbine.
