"New" sw-motech for 2013+ F800

Okay... I thought I saw this somewhere but I can't find it, so if I'm repeating, sorry.

Does anyone have a 2013-14 F800 with the new sw-motech bars (for the 2013+ model) that can post pics? I'd like to see the gap between the bars and the fairing.

Thanks!

Perfect! Gotta love YouTube.

I'm almost sold on these... I don't expect to do any heavy duty single track... More fireroad-type off-road. Should I be worried about how close these sit to the fairing? Or is this a non-issue?

True-be-told, the reason I like them so much is because the sit so close.

Thanks!

S&W Motech only lasted one 10 MPH crash but protected the bike , but not usable afterwards. Went with Adventure-Spec. Let you know how they work. Hopefully not soon.

PUIG Crashbars

After looking for a while, I decided to go with the PUIG Crashbars. I found them at REVZILLA.com for a very good price ($156 + free shipping) compared to others. The installation was ok not too bad, but the instructions from PUIG sucked! Anyway...to the good stuff....PICS.....

Crash Bars On Your F650 / F800

Givi tn690 do indeed fit on the 2014 F700 GS. I like em!
Took them out on a quick highway run. no vibrations. i tested out using them as highway leg rests and they are great.

You removed the engine mount bolts before fitting the expanding fittings? Why?

O shit. I'm such an asshole. Now that I think about it I didn't need to do that.
Crap! How bad is that. I should get those back in ASAP.

I've now had a chance to test my Touratech upper bars with BMW lower bars. I was going around a r/h bend on a forest service road a couple of weeks ago. Half way through the blind curve I see the grille of a Chevy PU coming straight at me cutting the corner in the opposite direction. Only thing I could do is lay the bike down on the right side and dive off at about 30 mph.
Not a mark on the plastics. The guy ran over my Wood's front wheel and bent the left roter, drove gravel between the rim and the bead, but the wheel stayed true. Steering was twisted, Zega pro box and frame were bent, hand guard bent enough that throttle wouldn't turn, and the rubber spacers on the TT bars were squished out, but the bars protected the bike. They get my vote any day.

Awesome.

How was the install? I'll be installing them next week. Also on an 2013 model.
