ADVrider - Bay Area Rim Ride

A few months ago I posted a route that runs around the Bay following the ridge tops of the surrounding mountains. The route runs 500 miles and includes most all of my favorite Bay Area back roads. cRAsH picked up the post and we've talked about it a couple of times since.
The prior post is here:

I am proposing to do a one day ADVrider outing on Wednesday, June 19 starting at Alice's 7:00am.

MS Streets says the route will take 12 hours at mostly legal speeds without stops. So it will be a long one. I don't think traffic is a factor since there is virtually no freeway time and busy highways are also avoided.

To do it in one day, weekends are definitely out since most of these roads are popular bikeways. For a visiting rider, this route would the most awesome way I can think of to take in the full Bay Area riding experience. For those familiar, the Hit List, in sequence, is as follows:

Skyline
Tunitas Creek
Old Stage
Pecadero
Alpine
Big Basin
Jamison Creek
Ice Cream Grade
Empire Grade
Eureka Canyon
Loma Prieta
Mt. Hamilton
Mines
Morgan Territory
Pope Canyon
Oakville Grade
Trinity
Point Reyes - Petaluma
Sir Francis Drake
Fairfax Bolinas
Hwy. 1

This is a foolishly ambitious outing which will no doubt result in some very tired asses getting home late. God knows how many turns come out of piling every twisty road ever built into one day. I've riden all but one or two of these in the past year at various times. It can be done....in one day.

The date is somewhat flexible, but I think Friday through Monday is out, and it gets too hot and or foggy the later into the Summer we get. (Already a little late...)

Anyone game???

Also, I can e-mail and EST or Garmin file to anyone who may want a copy.

(Maps edited to reflect minor route changes 6/7)

Whoa, you are an adventurous nut case... Why would anyone do this? You could get tired, hurt, hot...

I'm in.

It's my kinda day! Awesome, dude.

By the way, bicyclists call Tunitas Creek "Tendonitis Hill." :):

Your still an asshole, but the logo stays.

Could be worth the price of shirts.... or maybe it should be shorts in light of the subject matter.

500 miles w/o stopping? Even if I got off my butt and installed my S4, I still gotta stop a couple times for fuel...and I don't have a 500 mile bladder either.

Sounds fun...gotta check the calendar and work and see what I have to cancel to be there for it (tentative "in").

I'll be in the slow-poke group...

cRAsH,

About this Rim Job, oh I mean ride...

Do you know if the Uves Canyon road that connects from Summit to Casa Loma is a locked gate. I haven't been up there for a while. If that won't work, what is another clean way around to the San Jose side without going too far south?

Is this a GS-only ride, or will an RT be welcome? I'm willing to take the bike off-pavement (hard-packed dirt road), but not off-road.

Did I get the off-pavement/off-road distinctions right?
