update of record. My 2011 GS now with 48K miles, stock with 17 tooth front sprocket, no leggage, about 50mpg in winter and 55mpg summer, although, most of my miles are highway miles doing 70-80mph. The most impressive occasion was last year after Sandy, when we run out of gas supply in NY, I managed 55 miles on reserve to get home. I think I was doing 70mpg+ on that trip. By just doing the speed limit and alot of coasting. I found the real time mpg display to be 5mpg off, real world is less! Love this bike for this.

Question Updated mileage

Hey everyone,

Still have not gotten into the dealer for my 600 mile service and I am up to 1200 miles on the bike and I am still around 41 mpg.

Depending on how I drive, I get 60 MPG
Typically though, I get 52 MPG.

I guess I'm poking around at 51.7 MPG.

There are probably a few seasonal issues (and missed fill ups) but I would like to that officer Black of the CHP who let me off with a warning for doing 77 in a 55 when it was 43F out.

Sorry, but it was COLD.

Keep it under 65mph and it averages 56mpg. Add some altitude and it becomes 60mpg.

I added an AF-XIED and set it to 13.8afr. Mileage actually increased a little. Adding a 17 tooth sprocket to the above and it fell to 51 trying to emulate freeway speeds without a freeway and 57 if I keep it under 65.
