After Mt. Lemon the right side rear bolt was bent back like that (actually, it's the mounting bracket that gets bent), but there really weren't that many other scratches. The dent and the other bolt being shoved back happened on this trip. That's what the skid plate is for, right?

How's the ground clearance on a Ulysses?

Yep, they're definitely worth the cost and they do the job. My old XR600's plate looked like a potato chip. It had huge dents and gouges in it. This V-strom plate is the thickest I could find (3/16" aluminum) and the damage shown is after only two rides. I'll have to take a picture after each off-road adventure to show its deterioration over time.

I have a piece of diamond plate 1/4" Aluminum in my garage that is big enough to fabricate a real skid plate for you.

Shout outs from meet and greet

Nov 30. Our meet and greet included 2 little persons and 3 adults. New attendees (couple) Bonnie and Brian came out from Glendale. Also, rider Alex from the Nov 23rd ride brought his wife Adrianna and twin babies. Regulars, Eddy, Don, Robin, Aaron and Lauri were there and another Nov 23 Crown King KLR rider Tom. 3 hours worth of coffee and conversation made a great Sunday. Hope to see more riders next Sunday. Thanks Guys and Gals, see you all next week.
