You need to figure on getting gas at the corners of the route. IBA likes to see receipts from the edges so they know you didn't shortcut anything.
So you'd need additional stops at Quartzsite, Laughlin, Flagstaff, and Gallup. Of course, you could eliminate some of the other stops if the mileage works out. tz

I'd be concerned for the two stretches that are over 200 miles in terms of gas. The VFR gets just about 220 to the tank commuting. I'm sure it would get a lot less with a couple high speed runs.

Yup my 6fiddy is a good candidate for that ride i got street tire on it now (80%street,20%) and mild gearing, i can ride 85/90 mph all day long. New chain & rear sprocket. My Corbin seat will come handy on this type of ride
. All i need now is to find some time ![]() to do it .

I just threw out those dates. May will work but probably much hotter. I just got back from Laughlin on the Yamaha. Just under 600 miles total. Will try & post pics. & story. Great ride but already getting quite warm out that direction.

Took a ride Prescott to Laughlin & back. Great ride & weather. I am a sand wash nut so here are a couple I found a little off the planned route.
http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...t=PICT0004.mp4 http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...t=PICT0005.mp4 Here are a few random shots on the route. Just under 600 total. 250's are capable little bikes. Did not do the Searchlight ride as my friend in Bullhead had a hard getoff last week & not riding for a while. My wife Paula took pity on me staying in Laughlin alone & drove over & we did the river cruise & had a fun couple days. Pictures starting in Congress & heading west, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aqua Duck. Is that spelled right ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Use it but don't abuse it & we will have access for years to come!! ![]() ![]() Might have been more comfortable on this!! ![]() ![]() Return trip this morning. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last gate, Alamo Road & bogie home.

Running those powerline roads in 6th gear is too much fun. Wish you could have tagged along.
Just noticed I posted the same video twice. Has been corrected!! AZ TOM screwed with this post 03-29-2012 at 08:41 PM |
