Something to think about next time any of you ride the section from Sheep's Crossing down to Horseshoe...
Mountain lion that attacked dog in Arizona was rabid

I love this line:

"The owner went to his dog's defense and hit the lion over the head with a cast iron skillet."

You know, I keep my gun pretty accessible, but if I was hunched over fixing a flat or working on some other piece of the bike and this rabid lion jumped out at me, I doubt I'd have the reflexes or the sanity of mind to pull it in time. I'd probably take a swing at him with whatever I had handy just as this guy did with his skillet. In my case though, it'd probably be a flat tube. Wouldn't that be a sight.

Anybody know where I can pick up a 1400 pelican case in Phoenix?
Headed out for 3500 miles on Wednesday and would like to find an actual brick & mortar store.

Crown King fire

Crown King residents encouraged to evacuate due to fire

http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/region...gladiator-fire

Crown King evacuations are complete for Sunday night, residents who choose to remain MUST remain on their property. All businesses are closed, and roadblocks remain as only emergency personnel are allowed to enter the town.

hey yall. just moved here for work. pretty exciting looking state. so many things i want to ride too. im on a 1100 gs and have pretty good dirt skills. im not afraid to take the "red angry bird" anywhere. looking foward to meeting some of yall. at the moment my days off will be tues and weds until the project slows down a little. if anyone is available to ride either of those days let me know. i can do over nighters. anxious to see the grand canyon, hoover dam, and some of these mountains.

anyways, thats me.

Well, I took my "new to me" 2007 DR650 out for our maiden ds ride. I picked it up two weeks ago in Cortez, Co.

I've been wanted to do the Four Peaks/Apache Trail loop forever. Knock that one off the list.

Cow Shit Ranch (I live 1.5 miles away from a dairy farm)....

I'll go the other way thank you...

I never get enough of this view...

Heading up Four Peaks road...

No water crossing today...

Little different view....

Heading down the backside...

My Chevy Chase moment...

Topped off fuel, grabbed a Snickers bar and a bottle of water and then discussed how shitty Sprint's coverage is with a couple of the locals...

Cholla campground/boat ramp. Launched many times from here. Not today girl....

Obligatory bridge pick...

Yep....

I gotta get back here in the rain...

Where I always used to stop and turn around...

Had a great morning. Suspension totally sucks. Gotta work on that for sure. Other than that, I am very happy with the DR so far. It ripped down the paved section of TTF. Hopefully, a lot of miles to come.

Thanks Eddy. Had a great time. Got my exhaust, jet kit, rear spring in the mail this afternoon. I'm on call this weekend and have to stay close to the computer, but I was able to get everything installed. Just took it for a test spin around the hood. Backfiring a bit. Wasn't really able to open it up to see full effects. Exhaust sounds nice. Rear spring is extremely strong. Can wait to get out and compress it some.
