New Guy

Hello Southwest Dual Sport Riders Club.
I discovered this thread recently, and am looking for people to go riding with. I tried contacting the email at the beginning of the thread, but it was kicked back as undeliverable, so I thought I'd throw a post on here and see what happens. I recently purchased a barley used '09 KLR 650, I'm a new rider, 1st bike, I've gotten confident on pavement, but still slow & nervous on dirt. Only been on dirt 3 times, and getting better each time, but still pretty slow. If I was on 4 wheels I could haul, but new to two. Your thread says you go out every other Sunday?(you might be out right now). I browsed through a couple hundred pages of the thread, looks like your group is doing some good rides. Some of those places I've been to in my Jeep, but want to do a lot more exploring now that I have something I can afford to put fuel in. If you could get back to me with any other info, or when/where next ride is, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Welcome Twisted A.....First you will need to pass the hazing process. That involves washing all our bikes and then servicing our dogs. Once that is done, we will consider taking you on a ride where you will be held responsible for food, water, spare fuel, etc.

Needing some rides in SE

Hello all, I am fairly new to this forum thing and looking for some great people to ride with around Sierra Vista or Tucson. I like riding trails and hills, with a few rocks here and there. I rode the H@M A/B routes this last weekend and had a blast!! Looking for something like that. If anyone knows of anything down here let me know.

I wish I could be of more help. I'm actually curious about the southeastern corner of the state as well and so I'm going to try and squeeze in this ride probably in the spring sometime when the snow starts to melt on all the mountain tops to see what there is to see. If you have any input on the areas I'll be riding through it would be appreciated.

Visiting Phoenix Thursday

I am riding out of Phoenix Friday morning of this week and taking two days to get back to my home in LA.

Suggestions for a route?

Anyone want to join? If so, meals/gas are on me all day Friday and Saturday, one way to LA. You are on your own after that.

I was initially thinking of going to the Grand Canyon, and taking the most direct route home after that. Trying to make a birthday party Saturday evening in Pasadena, so changing route to go through Lake Havasu and possibly Big Bear. Any ideas are welcome!

Oh, and getting beers with some friends at 4 peaks Thursday evening, in case anyone wants to join.

Tempe.

I am planning to go to Papago to get a pint of Coconut Joe. Not spending the whole night there though.
