Casa Grande to Yumaa route

I am looking for a nice dirt route from the Casa Grande area to Yuma. Some slab time would be alright but mostly dirt would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Ron

El Camino Del Diablo runs from Ajo to Yuma. It's fun if it's dry.

If you ever do this ride again I would love to tag along. My favorite kind of terrain.

Shouldn't have to look very hard. The dotted line from Casa Grande to Ajo is all OHV legal trail. From there, you can pick up the El Camino Del Diablo all the way to Yuma. Sounds like a great ride.

You will need permission from BLM, Luke AFB, Cabeza de Prieta and possibly the Tohono Odham indians. Do a google search on Vekol Valley road to get some perspective for the ride (do you have a gun?).

You ought to be able to do that ride on 95% dirt

Hmm...I'm wondering, for those who have done this ride, what happens after point D:

I know that below the Welton area there's a military base. Do you bank a left someplace around point D and follow the fence to Yuma?

It will be nice to do it again. With your tracks I am sure we will not get lost again with our GPS.
