A few days ago someone asked about Browns Crossing... Had not been there for several years so I had a couple extra days so off I go.
Day one trailered to Alamo Lake Road where it meets Hwy 93. Made the 35mi run mostly graded road. Headed for what I recall was Browns Crossing... Well that was not practical for me to attempt as I was alone.

This was the second choice... still not for me! Notice the ice ! ! !

Took a few more pix and by then was running out of daylight.

Day 2

Went back 4 days later but this time I trailered to The Wayside Inn, via Wenden.
Did some more searching and found this route to the North Side of the lake "Brown Crossing"...

This shows the cut looking back at 100 yards of soft sand then up from sand level about 15' to the get to here.

Then a few up's - down's - up's -downs... Rocky quad trails full of silt and did I mentions lot's of head size loose rocks. Did not take many pix of this as I was travelin'...

Lots of red rocks, some slick like Moab but mostly easy going. Looked over several old Mine remains.

Perhaps my next trip to ?

Whew.... I felt like I was back in civilization once I found the Bus Stop !

Hi all...

I'll be in Phoenix for a few days for work but more importantly I'd like to rent a bike and go trail riding. My schedule is open in the afternoon Monday, January 21st. So far, my plan is to rent a WR450F from Extreme Arizona in Cave Creek, go 9 miles east of there and ride from 1:00 until 5:00.

Would anyone like to show a Minnesotan where to go around there? Or I'm open to suggestions on rentals, attractions, routes, etc.

Looks like it might be nice weather then...I'm probably looking at single digit highs here in Bemidji.

I'm kind of a loaner when exploring... But we'll get together sometime...

I'm roughly working on a casual two day ride to Parker via 90% dirt from my door. Combining several of my short trips for one fun adventure, will likely invite some of the ADV group to join, once it comes together.

There was a time where I would not have hesitated crossing the wood-bridge. Hell, I would not even have stopped to look it over, just plowed-on. But as I get older my "Sr. Senses" take over and... well you know the rest of the story... My wife really appreciates it when my Sr. Brain takes over my twenty-something thoughts!

In other news Kirt Caselli (riding Marc Coma's bike) scores a win in satge7. Go USA. That should pump me up for Sunday's ride
