Been away for a while... looking to ride

Hello all,
Been off the bike for a bit but ready to ride. I figured on doing some pavement rides since my rear tire is coming due for replacement. Thinking maybe my typical ride through Jerome/Cottonwood/Sedona/Flag route but adding something like a cruise of to the White Mountains or something. I have Thursday and Friday off for now which may change late next month again.

Not sure what kind of riding you're looking for. There's some good dirt routes between buckeye and Wickenburg west of the white tanks, hassayampa river wash, and some good single track between the white tanks and sun valley parkway. More road type stuff down vulture mine road. Tons of stuff north of Wickenburg, from the gnarliest single track, even my 200 has fits on, to hundreds of miles of jeep rd, to curvy mountain highways. This day trip ride report thread is probably a good place to start.

That's our favorite area to ride in the winter time. I did a few rides in the last couple of years there, must be aware of some deep sand crossing in that area past Hassyampa river. I do have Google link but no gpx files but there is a way to convert Google link to GPX.

How do you handle the deep sand on a DP? Ive only used 2strokes in the sand.

On my 640 Adv, it can be a pain, but you just have to keep your speed up and to some degree, let the front go where it wants to.....Unless that happens to be directly into a cactus.

I can only imagine and fear greatly!!! Ive had several run ins. Not fun!
One was a barrel cactus I pulled out probably 20 quills. massive pain for a week, couldnt walk right for a few months then had to be gentle for a few more months until I realized there were two more quills in me. Pulled those out after 9 months and the pain stopped. The "poison" on them is really somethin... Pardon, I digress.
Similar to a truck in mud? Try not to stop but launch slow if you do? Arent those 640s kinda torquey? Im guessing
