Too... many... commitments.... conspiring... against... me...

That looks like a lot of fun and I'd love to do it on my 625SXC, but a lot of stuff would have to get moved around and/or canceled for me to be able to make it.

I'll see what I can do...

I figured, I could be at each point with cold fresh water, gatorade, fruit and snacks for the group so they can get a quick refresh? What do you think? (just showing Aloha for our friends)

Yep! I'll be the guy stopping at every gas station to top off my little 2.5g tank.

Isn't now the time to be exploring the low desert, where the highs will be in the low 70's? Instead, you are heading to high elevations where the highs are 50. I doub't you'll need cold drinks; maybe propane heaters.
[/devil's advocate]

Be safe, regardless.

WOW 2.5g. you're lucky we got a chase truck this time . No but it's all good Yardstick just want to give u a head start distance wise . the longest stretch without gas that i recall is from Mayer gas Station all z way to Springvalley rd a bit north of hwy 40 where is a nice restaurant we had lunch there it's ~ 114 miles it could be a few miles more ( like 4 or 5 ) if there is a gate on NF3733 from Garland Prairie rd to get to I-40 . Now that is z case considering no gas station in Jerome witch i am not sure , if there is one then u only gonna be riding ~ 54.6 miles without hittin' a gas stop . if Lauri would meet us in Jerome 4 sure then there will be no gas shortage at no time .

I was thinking about carrying a couple of 1L bottles meant for liquid fuel stoves as a reserve. I don't even know what kind of fuel economy I get with the 625. I've only had it a couple of months and haven't been able to complete all the setup on it. It hasn't even gone through a full tank of fuel yet. The bike only has ~550 miles on it... It's hardly even broken in!

There are a couple of large tank options, but they are pricey! There was a picture of one floating around on here that had a pair of big baja lights and a 27L Aqualine tank. It looked like it was ready for Baja (which is where the guy took it!).

I have an 04 SXC and it gets 40mpg + running it pretty hard..

It has the 18lt tank on it which is 4.8g and the 02 640 graphics and seat..

I wish it still looked that good..

I did the same run with my stock tank so you will be fine..
