We keep talking about doing a ride up the 191. Maybe we need to plan that for earlier in the year than I thought. I was planning to wait until it was hitting the 90's down in the valley. The loop would bring us pretty close to Snowflake.

I've been hearing that but my normal weather source is still saying low 80's. It would have been a good weekend for it if I did a little planning.

SDSR - White mountains

QUESTION:

Would anyone be opposed to having a White Mountain "Chapter" of this thread on ADVRider for those who live in and around the White Mountain area? or should I encourage riders to use the same Phoenix thread?

Ide like to get some feedback either way. Much appreciated

BRILLIANT !!!
Why not, if that's all it takes to get you back on the KLR. I'm all for it besides that will open more trails having a "local' that knows the area, an alternative to the heat of the valley through the summer months, and yes a" luau in the pines"

Let me know what I can do to help because I need more information on TONTO NF any way

If you want more info and to help with the Tonto NF, check this group out: http://www.tontorecreationalliance.org/ I went to their last meeting and have ridden with the founders several times.

Thank you for the input. Im hoping to gather at least a few riders. Eddy makes a good point that we might not have the volume that we once had in PHX but hopefully we get a few locals and can share trail information between us and yes Luaus once we get going. We definately wont have our map/trail guru Eddy to help plan but maybe we can fake it. Girls are good at faking it Good thing is that we would be able to meet up for group rides out near our/your way or we will have a place to come to to get away from the heat. We have 40 acres of prime camp land (with water and electricity)

I encourage more feedback...Thanks Chick4KLRs

Aloha to everyone

Aloha from the White Mountains of Arizona! As with the Valley, it has been a very dry Winter Season up here and the temps have been very good for riding, although with my list of things to do I have to been able to partake in those activities, however I still reflect on the rides and friendship of those I have encountered here in our little club. One day soon I will return to riding and new adventures up here in the White Mountain area under the second Chapter of The Southwest Dual Sport Riders club "The White Mountain Chapter SDSR". See you all soon, and keep an eye open for the official announcement of "The White Mountain Chapter SDSR" meeting location and info!

I'd like to put a shout out to "Montek" whom I ran into at the "Giant" Gas Station in Payson as he was returning from a ride with Big-E and others. Aloha Bruddah!

Please note that this is the opinion of a former SW dweller, now an AZ highlander---YMMV
Since moving from the valley, things that I miss after living there. Yeah RIGHT !!

Eddy, you unappreciative lil' twit, where else can you go to Wal-Mart & become Target, how can you not wake up to a sunrise in Scottsdale & step out to the smell of Botox & Silicone on the breeze? & be thankful that your Bat Shit Crazy girlfriend didn't stab you in the neck overnite ? How great is it to drive one of the many demolition derby freeways & arrive at your destination not having to dodge Propane IED 's being launched from in front you.? How can you not get caught up in the melodious thump-thump -thump of Mexican circus music emitted from oversized speakers of a low-rider cruising the streets? I know I miss the mariachi music & sound of gun shots on a Saturday night, & how I can no longer add to my collection of spent bullets that rolled of my back yard patio cover, Oh how miss low hovering police helicopters giving the warm white glow of search lights to my house & very own personal communications to "stay inside & lock doors "

How can you not get excited about the games of Hit n Run & extra points for crashing into a living room? The seasonal activity of "Stupid Hike & Seek" w/ bonus points if PFD has to airlift you out .
My guess is that you missed out on Eric Holders gun give away & that is the cause of your bitterness or perhaps that Child Protective services came by wondering why you were trying to force Jasper to become a Dakar rider.

I think, as Refokus suggests, you need to be more appreciative of your surroundings or as the ol' 60s songs says
"You never know what you have till its gone"

Reassert yourself youngman.
