CTR - Coconino Trail Riders. Great group of riders that I joined when I moved to Flag from the valley a few years ago. They are doing a lot of good work getting more riding areas opened and building new trails. Have built a great relationship with the forest service which is supporting the effort because of CTR's persistence and positive efforts and contributions. This ride will help keep that going so please come support it! Yes, first time for this event and hope to make it an annual event. There are A, B and C routes. Something for everyone. Thanks for the link CyberDos.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

The plan will be to leave early Friday morning from Mesa and then head back early Saturday morning to beat the heat.
I posted this in the East of Phoenix group, but anyone is invited.

Is anybody interested in a bunch of old Dirt Bike magazines? I came across an old collection from about 1992-1999 and they're going in the recycle bin unless anyone wants them.

Flagstaff Ride

I know of a few people from this thread that are coming up for this event on 7/19 and 7/20. There's still spots left but I understand signups will be closing early next week. Riding and weather is really, really nice right now.

Here's a link to an ADV thread with info:

Last week on the 4th I left Gilbert and headed up 87. Took the 4 Peaks turn off to Trail 11 and headed over to Mesquite wash. where I hopped back on 87 and headed up to the Mt. Ord turnoff. Went up Mt. Ord and then back down a different trail to 87 The trail down outlet to these coordinates: 33°57'36.10"N 111°23'53.88"W. Headed up 87 past Payson, Pine and Strawberry.

Stayed on 87 until I turned left on to NF211. I took this north to NF82 to 69B to 69 and went and saw Meteor Crater. It was a fun ride. Took the slab to Flagstaff and then headed back down Lake Mary Road. I hit a bunch of Forest roads on the way back down.

Great solo ride! A little over 400 miles

Burned section on Trail 11

Horny Toad on Trail 11

Heading up Mt. Ord

20 miles south of Meteor Crater on 69 (100+mph road)

The Crater is pretty cool but $18 for an adult is pretty pricey!

Lake Mary road in the rain!

Two track behind Mormon Lake

Aspens south on Mormon Lake

Dead fall on NF-725 (Had to drag the bike under this log)

Would love to do that ride with you, but the dragging the bike part makes me cringe. My 990 is still a garage queen at this point.

I was thinking the same thing! Nice ride EZ. Saw you signed up for the Flagstaff Ride coming up this weekend. For those that haven't and still want to SIGN UP CLOSES TONIGHT (Monday) AT MIDNIGHT. Unfortunately can't do any single day passes and no walk ups. Sorry but logistics kept that from being an option.
