Newbie Introduction

Hello my name is Mike Reina I was introduced to this site, SWDS club in the Regional Forums section (long time ADV lurker, mostly GSpot and Thumpers) by Mark Garula, I work with him at Honeywell. I question him about his bike after seeing him at a meeting wearing a “ADV DAKAR” polo shirt. I ride a 05 BMW R1200GS and recently set-up a 07 Suzuki DR650se for more “adventurous” rides. I will try to make it to the next Starbucks meet at Bell and Tatum. Please include me in your mailing list. Looking forward to riding with your group, Thanks Mark Garula,
Mike Reina in Phoenix

Son, I always carry a spare shift lever,,,it is the law of DS

as stated in our club bylaws ..see section 104, paragraph 12 ..."included in all tool kits for rides beyond a dunkin donuts or starbucks the rider of the motorcycle should carry an extra shifter lever and a solar panel for battery charging and avoidance of aliens."

Follow the rules Robin and join the Easy Riders Sub CLub for $9. We ride 2-lane roads, take it easy and abuse others before we abuse our bikes or selves.

BTW: New add to the tail bag tool set, a tube of Quick Fix Epoxy (found at Wal-Mart), sets in 15 Min, cures in one hour, even works on wet surfaces. I'm going to buy a new shifter, but will carry the currnt one for a spare, as I dont think the thing will break even if I hit it with a 12LBS Sledge.

Again thanks everyone, it was great!!!!!

I like the cut of your jib, your enough of a man for me to forsake women, well . . . . . maybe ugly women if its dark and I've had too much to drink, and you'd have to smell pretty.

Ride This Friday

Hey, I'm off work this Friday and I've already paid the nanny to watch my son. Looks like a great day for a ride. I'm thinking Tip Top Mine. The waters should be lower now then last month.

Tom,

I don't know man, I think that you are way too cool in your new threads, maybe even too cool to be riding a lowly KLR, I think it's time to make the step up to the bimmer! . Seriously, love the jacket, but I think the pants were cooler!

Sunday's ride was the most challenging ride I have been on to date. DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Sandy wash (to go around a downed tree), major fork buster ruts, lots of loose rock, and soft powdery dirt, but it was fun!

I think they said NO meeting because of Easter. I might be able to go for a ride, though. Any others? Where to?

Tip Top Mine Friday 4/10

I'm going to try Tip Top Mine on Friday 4/10. Time and start location still to be finalized. It won't be first thing in the morning. I'm thinking 9:30ish departure from Cave Creek Coffee House. This allows for getting to Cave Creek around 9:00 and setting around for a while before starting out. We can gas up at the CareFree I17 interchange sometime around 10:00. This should get us back into town by 4:00pm at even the most leisurely pace. This is a rare weekday time off for me, so I don't want it to feel like work. Perhaps NightStalker would be available to come along since he did the run last October.
