Stock cable connects to it fine.

In the middle of my afternoon project..

Question. I'm taking everything apart to grease and loc tite it. All the bearings are in ok shape. My swingarm came off without taking out the innner and outer lock nut things..do you think it wasn't tightened properly? I'm not sure if the swingarm has ever been taken off before. Now Its back to work, gotta another bike to chop in half tonight

Needed to loosen the lock nut (NUT, LOCK P/N# 90301-MBN-670) and the adjuster (BOLT, ADJUSTING PIVOT P/N# 52109-MBN-670) for mine to come out easily to avoid damaging the seals at each end of the swing arm pivot.
If it came out 'easily' I'd suspect the seals may have been extremely worn or the swing arm may have not been adjusted correctly and had excessive side play - worth checking on reassembly.
Enjoy

p.s. Good site for info especially the parts fische at - http://www.xr650r.us/fiche/

I got these for $15. They appear to be out of stock, but you can find them other places (ebay, amazon) with a little looking.

I have IMS super stocks on mine and they are great. I looked at the pros but they are too sharp. Sharp pegs on $700 boots is farken stupid.

Here are the new moose ones...

They are wider and longer than the IMS's.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned these already. Not sure about its wind deflection since I have not installed mine, but the quality is top. I got the ones with mirrors, to kill 2 birds with one stone...

Also, Paul's customer service is beyond anything I have seen.

Does anyone have the tools for taking apart the front forks? I need to borrow them

Also, I made a set of the swingarm sockets if anyone needs to use them
