Need Help! BRP won't start!

Need some help over here
Put the XRR away for the winter.
Brought it out, set the valves, cleaned and oiled the air filter, new spark plug and fresh gas.

Fired it up in the laneway, idled for a minute then out on the street to do a short turn around. Back in the laneway, idled for a minute then out to the street where I cracked the throttle to wheelie. Instead of a wheelie, it stalled.

It will not start now, just the odd backfire.

Have rechecked-
-all connections from stator to harness.
-valve clearance
-throttle setting
-float bowl

I'm going to put another new plug in, as the new one I installed had been rattling around in my tool kit last trip to Baja.

Ideas??

Did you leave the choke on? That's what mine does when I forget to turn the choke off.

Looking for info and prices....

I've got a "new-to-me" '03 XRR which came with the stock tires...uncorked, re-jetted, White Bros pipe and just in great condition....

And since I've DS'd an '02 which is plated here in FlugistanUtah....I'd really like to Sumo this pig...

But first, to plate it, I'd like to hear what alternatives are available....I did the
'02 with full Baja Designs which was a kit...so far it's needed a new flash unit and the control has lost it's switch top....not to mention it cost quite a bit...

So I'd like to hear what other suggestions this gang might have........alternative to another BJ....kit that is.........

Hehe.. ..

I was thinkin' choke too!!

Hey jfn68,

Next time you have the fairing off, please snap some pics of the front end headlight mount assembly and frame tab. I want to see more of the setup!!! Your rig makes me want to learn to weld!

Infidel, move the old BJ kit to the new sumo for plating purposes and pimp the pre-plated pig.

Not to sound dumb or anything but it sounds like you are out of gas. check and see if the carb is getting fuel then make sure there isnt anything in the jets clogging it. Something could have become dislodged after you rode it and then it blocked the jets.

Or it could just be the choke

Did you drain the carb for the winter? I had the same problem and it was gunk in the pilot screw. Took it out, sprayed some carb cleaner in it and she fired right up.

I'm 'sure' I did, but I'll look at that, thanks.

For those of you who feel it's pointless to try to remove weight from an XR650R I might be inclined to agree if I rode in the desert where this bike was intended to live, but I don't. I ride in the woods. Sometimes very tight woods. I could get a much lighter bike designed to do the type of riding I do but that's not what I want. I love my 650R and intend on keeping it. If I can drop a few pounds, great. I had no idea how spendy this ti stuff was so I asked DOSCERVASAS to post it here because my e-mail wouldn't accept it.
So, if anyone deserves any negative comments regarding installing ti on a 650R it's me, not him. Thanks.
Thanks for that, is there a saying the good guy always finishes last. I am with you, I ride a lot of tight stuff, and if I have a TI header and pipe where else do you go. I am still trying to find a TI sub frame, I had one for my YZF-450, but can not find one for the BRP.

with the kill switch working. and if the plug is getting spark take out plug put fuel in head replace plug and kick it several times should run for a second. works every time on my boats that sit for awhile. if it works you have just narrowed the problem down to fuel line or carb
