[QUOTE=RideFreak;19651967]Here's some dualsportin on the XR from last weekend. Pretty tame stuff out on the Continental Divide Trail. This section is a 120mi leg of a 230 mi ride. It's a stretch of the CDT between Grants NM and SanYsidro NM. This is our outback, BFE to be exact. We were cruisin pretty easy for the first part of the vid, about 1/2 way through we decided our gas would get back and remembered there was beer on ice back at the truck

That usually me!
Thanks for the Vid and inspiration Chris.
Getting a little warmer here now, hope to get out soon.
Stay safe.

The RDS Red Sled Is Waiting to be Fed

We made a big push this weekend, by installing an upgraded clutch hub bushing, installing the tank, finalizing the baja designs install, tightening all frame fittings, routing cables and installing the TCI Products skid plate and engine gards.
The beast runs, and is ready to roll bones at the Roll The Bones Rally and go to Big Bend Ranch State Park!

I am at C-10,R-15 with spring rate of 9.8 kg/mm. For 80 kg weight (I assume that is with all your gear) you should start at 9.2 or 9.5 spring rate. I think stock is 9.2, but 80 kg is near the upper limit for 9.2.

Fun ride! I've done that section before and NM surprised me. Good riding for sure. I can't pin-point it but I think we camped somewhere along this ride you just did.

As for riding, my buddy and I ride side by side a lot. Not the safest, but sure beats the dust. We trust eachother and know when we're doing it.

Love the sound of the XRR!

I think all these spotless XRR's on this thread lately have to actually go get used. Shiny bikes aren't worth much to me because it means I haven't rode them!

Thanks dude, Ayers Garage did the work and I could tell you the color I think. It looks good, and I like how the ManRack is right-sized for the XRR! Looking forward to packing up for a trip!

Nothing right now. I'm commuting 175 miles per day and seriously don't have time for the XRR, I could mothball it and save it, but I figured I'd turn it over and let somebody else have some fun with it. I'm saving towards buying a second house closer to work, then maybe another big thumper for solo dirt travel.

Turn Signal Heat Shield

Hey folks, I'm setting my XR up for street use and put the turn signals on, but had some concern about the exhaust heat doing right rear in so I fabbed-up this heat shield just in case. It's smaller than it looks. I know some would say, why did you put the signal there, but it's not in the direct path of the exhaust, but no matter where I put it around there, it'd be in the heat range. I made the plate base too.

Looks good. Should perform as needed. Pretty heavy guage for a non-offroad model =) Looks like it shouldn't affect the exhaust noise either. Sometimes you can get that baffle noise if placed in the direct path of the exhaust.

Wow. 174 miles. I don't commute that far in 9 days of work. Not trying to be an ass, but did your place of work move or how did that come about? Understandable why you don't have any time in the day!

This is the R thread. Someone might know about the L. Are you talking rear tire or front?
