Sorry for the delay

Sorry for the delay folks. I had to go down to Trenton yesterday, and was hoping to find someplace to drop the tag on the way back up, but I wound up getting stuck down there until after 9pm, and was not able to.

New tag this afternoon (hopefully).

New Tag

Start Here, 379-389 Franklin Ave., Denville, NJ 07834, or 40.885,-74.512872.

Follow the road all the way back until you get here. Go down this driveway and to the right.

Continue to back of parking lot.

Enter abandoned railroad bed.

Follow the railroad bed towards route 46 which is elevated above you. Just before you are close to route 46, there is a muddy clearing on the right. (Sorry I did not get a picture of it). Make a right off of the railroad bed and go through the clearing until you get to a second area with cinder blocks arranged in a circle. To the right, you will see this trail.

The trail is pretty easy to follow...

Until you get to here...

Here the trail splinter off into many directions to go around fallen trees and stuff. you want to head towards the tree you see in the picture across the trail. beyond the tree, all the trails come back together, so pick what ever line you like. You do not want to go towards the left up the hill. Sorry, this is the only part that is a little confusing (Its supposed to be an adventure, right?).

After the trails come back together, you will climb this hill, with this big tree on your right.

The tree in the dead center of the picture above has an arrow spay painted on it (black) pointing to the left. You can't really see it in the picture. You want to take a hard right around that tree.

Follow that trail over this tree...

Past this fallen tree...

Past this fallen tree...

and through this little stream.

Just after you cross the stream the trail goes up to the left into a small clearing.

Our mascot is just behind the big tree on the left.

That is the same tree as in the previous picture. He is hiding inside an old tire.

I covered him with leaves.

Here is a basic map of the area. Location is approxiamte.

I know it seems confusing, but it is a small area, so even if you went the wrong way once, you are no going to get very far. As far as bikes go, you can see my old Honda is back there, on street tires, BUT use your discretion. These are trails, not roads. There were rocks, sand, mud and logs. Happy hunting.

new tag...

Nice job, Bill! Should be fun to explore around in that little area. Did you leave a flag by the tree?

Doc, the only thing I ALMOST left was my phone. I headed in and took a few pictures on the way in. Then I went exploring to find a spot to drop the tag. Then I headed back out to document the path I took. When I went to take this picture...

my phone was gone. I parked the bike there, and went out on foot to find it. Can't believe I actually did. I walked around for probably 45 minutes.

So, we have to find the tree in the woods with the cell phone next to it?

One mascot at a time, please! The StBob's droid should be the active mascot/tag. Sorry, Devo. You can keep the Tiki if you want. It's about the ride, not the gay plastic toys.

Hey, railroad man, did you have fun in the dirt at Loudon? Doesn't that BMW go on the street? Guess if you can afford a $40,000 pick up truck, you don't have to trailer to your dirt.....

And didn't you read rule 12? That you have to tag to post on this thread?
