Knobbies and dirt brakes are not very good for highways or 2 hours of droning on flat, relatively straight backroads. [/QUOTE]

Or dirt patches,200 yards long,in between city blocks.

What's a "dirt brake"????

The kind of brake you have on the front of your SE. That was designed to work nicely in the dirt, so that you didn't easily lock up the front tire, but is pretty mediocre on the street, when that car turns in front of you or a deer jumps out when your traveling 60 mph on a back road.

We have had some good tags lately, like this one by KLRRR:

Yes, some have been lame, but few as lame as the random tree in the woods or telephone poles we've seen on the copycat, wannabee threads!

Come on, Rob, you know the answer to that question. The idea was to limit it to the NY Metro area. To include all of NJ, since that is where the active players have been, but to include some of NY, Connecticut, Pa. Was not intended to include Western Pa, for instance, or Vermont. They have their own games.

The idea was to show that you could have fun with a dual sport bike relatively close to NY City. I think we showed that. It is too bad we didn't get the Pine Barrens more involved with the game. Some great spots their to drop a tag, as the "Legit" folks have found.

Rob, you have your own game with a duck that goes further. For those who need longer distances to quench their thirst for wanderlust, it is a good one. To each his own, right? I personally have to stay closer to home for work and the family.

Feel free! Enjoy your ride through New Jersey! Want to meet in the Pine Barrens for some sand while you are wondering? Supposed to be beautiful tomorrow!

For those who don't know what an SE is, here's the single front "dirt" brake on this 100 horsepower, 425 lb. dirt bike:

Perfect for the dirt, marginal for the aggressive riding this bike is capable of on the street, especially with street tires.

Now, in contrast, this is what is on the front of the RC8 (one of TWO), a 150 horsepower, 425 lb. street bike:

But enough twittering. Isn't anyone gonna go and get that neat tag of Sallydog's?

Yup. 159.8 is correct by my GPS. Screw Google maps, I could place the tag in Manhatten (if there was any dirt) and have Google route it at 159 miles.

I'd love nothing more than to long haul the duck, but I'm in the van, bike on the trailer. I dont trailer tag like some others in this other NJ tags.

BTW... I'll. Be going through Morristown in a bit,, wanna meet for coffee???
