Sorry, new tag up tomorrow, I got called home unexpectedly and had to cut my ride short. Bummer, that was my first chance to get out for 3 weeks. Put all my Winter gear on and found it wasn't necessary, it was a beautiful day if a little blustery.

On the way I passed yesterday's tag location:

Here's the bike and stump...

...and here's the wee beastie:

I have a surprise for him this evening.

Duck's Night Out

I took my unexpected guest to the local school where they were practicing a nativity play:

Afterwards he got to meet the shepherd, his flock and assorted animals; the Three Kings; Mary, Joseph and their Infant Son; and the Angel:

He's sleeping now, ready to go back out on the road in the morning.

New tag

After a night with an Angel, the duck wanted to be by some water, but the first road we tried was closed, and when we went to the other end we could see why:

Unllike the Guv'mint, we have a Plan B, so we go somewhere else. The duck is on an eponymously named road - I can hear the first settlers now: "Look, a hill, with boulders, let's build a road there and call it...".

The way in from the Southern end:

All the following pictures were taken on the way back after going to the North end of the road; the bike hasn't moved.

Loking North, the duck is behind this tree, and secured with a rock:

Finally, ready to leave, looking South:

You were late -- Gil and I passed that particular road about noon on our ramble.

That first one was Raritan River Rd., right? You could have gotten around the tree-- but the you'd have to deal with the baby head boulders

For the second day in a row my wife (light of my life, song of my heart) decided to switch when she needed the car, so I had to do my errands in the morning instead of the afternoon.

Yup, Raritan River Road. It was a hunch, never been there before, thought I'd take a look first, it's not very far from Plan B.
