As far as direction, I was heading home, as usual! And it was pretty cold out! I think 25 degrees. The puddles were easy to traverse!

guys,
as you know doc offered to help me find the access road, but since i didn't hear from him, and since he posted the gps coordinates, i assumed that he made other plans - i was wrong! he would get me there, but i wouldn't be able to get to cc bmw on time so someone else has to go and get it..

New Up-to-date tag photo...
For those of you who don't like file photos, here's one from today. Sorry, but the puddles were all empty, and there wasn't any ice left!

bonus...
And, to make it a little more interesting:
![]() Yes, Ducgonzo has been left there, on the only limb sticking out on the trail. But school's out, and the kids play there, so I can't guarantee the duck will last till tomorrow.

It's your game, Your tag, You make the call?
Don't you know it's not safe to leave a poor little ducky alone on a trail next to the R.R. tracks
I have the duck & it's safe & dry ![]() I don't know how you got in there doc?? I first tried by Talmadge Rd. & Sunshine Lane Which I believe would have taken me there? But you said it was dry?Across the street from this pic was do not enter signs ![]() So I tried at the dead end of Woodbrooke Dr. That didn't look like it either rough...but may have taken me there too?? I walked to the pond. ![]() Then I seen some kids in the development & they sent me over to next development by 287 & I went around some guardrails by a pool aat the end of Kelly Dr....Came across the Talmadge Rd bridge. Looks like that would have taken me there too??? ![]() The other side ![]() So the last spot I tried was the back of St Joesephs Highschool on Plainfield Rd. I rode all the way to the back (where Red A is) http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid...3%2c-74.380381 I still couldn't find a way to get on the trail easily. But I knew I was close so I started to hoof it. I knew I was on track & there it was ![]() The only place I seen when I was there was possibly by the bridge over Plainfield Rd. , Where the pipeline signs are?? Or now that I'm home looking at the map maybe Forest St. or Reading Rd?? RedPower screwed with this post 10-09-2009 at 09:45 PM |

Vince, you are amazing! The tag was right behind the school, but as you found out, that wasn't the entrance to the trail. The trail starts right off of Liberty Street, behind a plastics company: ![]() Here's the beginning of the trail...You go under the abandoned railroad bridge, and then go about 100 yards. ![]() I was going to add these additional clues this morning, but you had a great adventure without them. By the way, this trail goes for a few miles, and is perfectly legal. Right in the middle of Metuchen and Edison! And only 1 mile from Cross Country BMW! You've got it! In this game, if you get the mascot, you get the tag. Even if you had to walk the last few yards! In the dark!

So I said to myself....I didn't ride 55 miles & search around these railroad beds for 2 1/2 hours & go home EMPTY HANDED Well i will get New tag up sometime later today. I have 2 spots...First spot the duck will be safe but not much off road. But Second spot is high traffic may be picked up by an outsider...Or Third I could put it somewhere that may not be too legal that is REALLY off road
