Just started to rain a little. I see blue skies in areas. Of course it is just raining over me cause I just started to clean up the camp ground. In the time it took me to bring in the wheel barrel, put the cover over the boat, get the gas cans out of the back of the truck and type this it quit raining. That is what isolated 30% chain of thunderstorms mean around here. Sun is now peaking thru. Perfect day to ride.

tracks for Friday stage 1

Thought I'd give this one more try. Point 44 and 58 are the important don't miss turns. The rest you just follow the flow/road.

Sounds like typical Sierra summer weather.

Cry Out

I'm out, running out of prep time. Bike, gear and Mental.
Being unprepared is where things go wrong.

Hope you Fooks have a great time and look forward to ride reports.

Sat. Ride GPS File

Here is my attempt at a GPS file version of the Saturday ride.
I used MapSource and I had to re-do a few things so 'buyer beware' but I think it has all the major parts needed.
I made it while reviewing the google map I posted.

Saturday Stage 1 Advanced single track

This has some single track and some trails. To do the whole thing you should have knobbies and be a darn good rider.

There is the distance and my time. Try to beat it . I didn't stop for pictures. The loop at the bottom/start isn't too hard and it goes to the regular trail.

Forgot to add I saw a bear up there on the single track. He boogied up a tree right in front of me. Looked to be about 1 year old which means mom was close. I glanced over my shoulder and didn't see her. That's when it gets scarry cause you know she is close and it was too tight for me to get out of 1st gear. Bear bate.

Anyone interested in a slightly used front tire?

I'll be arriving in Tahoe late on Friday and joining the ride Saturday morning. I happen to have this Bridgestone "Trail Wing" front tire size 90/90-21.
Here's a link to a Bridgestone dealer that sells them.
http://www.tiresunlimited.com/all%20...trail_wing.htm

You can see he charges $66.75 for this tire new.
It is used but still has about 75% tread. I no longer own a bike that takes a 21 inch front. Anyway, I'll take $20 for it. I can bring it up with me to Tahoe and give it to you there. I'll be at Jeff's house (Tahoeacr) at 9:00 am on Saturday. If interested, PM me.

John

Saturday should be......interesting.
