I also note that the CeeBailey is competitively priced, about 10% less than CalSci. I owned CB before and really liked the quality. I can almost see a smoked screen on the BigBlueSquirt. If I was a tall rider, I'd definitely have a dark smoke screen. With stock 2010 screen I half look over and half look thru at full height unless I sit like the school marm's perfect pet. When I pull the trigger, it'll have to be clear to be safe.

CB also has a neat deal where you can buy a shortie screen for $100 flat when combined with any full size model. I gotta think this would be a nice summer set up around town. So many neat things to buy when you get a new bike. It is like a disease, and I told myself I would log plenty of miles this winter before I started changing things around.

You pretty much have to run two screens on this bike. A decent winter screen knocks the wind nicely, but you will roast behind it in the summer.

In truth, I was already leaning towards CeeBailey +2" (the EuroCut) but CalSci's relief cut is interesting. There's a lot of back pressure at full height and highway speeds.

Any other inmates have thoughts on screens? That's like asking a fellow what his favorite shoes are...let the opinions fly.

Just measured the screen... Calsci Large , measured across the widest part near the base.... 24"

Meanwhile 2" from the top it is 17" wide

Top of screen to the point in the middle at the bottom just under 25"

Does anyone have an auxiliary fuel cell on their Concours? I am trying to figure out how to mount a 4 gallon tank, whether it be bolted down over the seat, "tail dragger" (see sampson sport touring), or just in some sort of bag I can strap to the seat.

Cablebandit, I like your style! Two screens indeed, and it isn't a want, it is a NEED

I bought a Cal Sci. The difference over the stock is huge. Wind noise and buffeting are under control with this screen.

The Cal Sci site gives some guidelines for choosing a screen height. Follow the instructions then add one inch to the height before ordering. I find myself crouching a bit more than I like when it's raining, and I attribute it to sitting a little straighter than I normally would during the sizing.

The Cal Sci isn't as "pretty" as the stock, but after using it, I'd take function over form any day!

Currently using two screens...Stock screen for warm weather, and the NC V-Stream for the late Fall / Winter.

CB is right about being baked behind a tall screen. +1 on 2.

Folks, not telling anyone anything new here, but the C14 never ceases to impress. I came from an '05 Goldwing one week before acquiring my C14. The Wing served its purpose, now my Connie14 is serving hers. Today, I rolled over 8k in miles since February which is about what I put on the Wing before selling. Next year I plan to travel west of the Mississippi and into NM, CO, and UT to start with. I can't wait!

New to the C14

Hi Gang,
I'm a long time ADVrider and have now just purchased a 2012 C14. This is a first for me and am looking forward to making some memories with it!

I sure like the new all black one. I was a FJR fan for a while, until black came out.

Sure would be an awesome ride for freeway mile munchin'. Like if I wanted to bolt to California for a day or something...

What a ride! That is a 65+ mph average. Blew me away. I'm trying to determine if a 1,000 day is possible, for me, going west in the Spring. I'm not sure I could stay up that long.Is your route along interstates?
