Bravo zulu.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Finally found the time to finish this, Mr. O. Helluva good job!

My favorite theme was the humorous signage. I suspect you had to double back for the picture more than once. It was appreciated.

To the roads!

I came across this thread just a couple of weeks ago and am really impressed. The photos and humourous stories are simply the best I've come across. I've been recommending to all of my friends - on both sides of the Atlantic. I'm only up to page 14 or so and still lots to read. Many, many thanks.

It's about time for another "furiner" to come over and do a lengthy road trip so the rest of us can live vicariously while working day jobs .

WOW!! Juts finished the whole story! Good on ya "O" Now, I am somewhat ashamed that I have not seen more of the country of my birth *sigh* So, I need to get the old "Things to See and Do" list fired up, sharpen my pencil, gear up the bike and start checking those things off !! Thanks again for sharing your travels and adding some motivation to my slack ass.

Whether you think you can or you think you can't... you're right

Way to go

Way to go Mike,
Just really got into your trip and it's pics. Reminded me so much of the places I ventured to and the ones I didn't have time to check out in the west. And, quite a few in the east.
The pics were outstanding and make me realize that I have a problem with stopping and taking pics that needs to be resolved.

it could be corrected further on, i've not found any dementi though. this is not a construction. this wrapped in black cloth building is deutsche bank quarter. it suffered from 9/11 attack. as far as i know it is still to be demolished.

Hey, Mike gathered up some of his best shots and I plotted them on a map and came up with:

If you have Google Earth installed (and you should), click the green Google Earth button on the right and look out below.

All I see is "we're sorry, but we dont' have imagery at this zoom level for this
region...try zooming out for a broader look".
