Google maps doesn't have imagery up close and personal for every inch of the earth yet, but for most of the shots it should look pretty good.

If you have Google Earth installed (and you should), click the green Google Earth button on the right and look out below.
Taking Mike's great report to a whole new level! Thanks, Baldy!

Wow I guess it's late in the game but that was amazing. I must have started my letter of resignation like 5 times reading this whole thread. First off thanks for all the effort it took to share your thoughts and photo's. It's made me ashamed of how little I've really seen of this country(and I've lived here my whole life). You've inspired me to get out there, even if it's only a little bit at a time. Thanks Mike!

Although I'm not done reading your excellent report and usually don't like to reply before doing that I must say: HEAR HEAR to your words here!!!

Stay safe!!!

Laugh Wow Mike!

I dont know what to say, I have read every word with incredible interest. I have 4 kids and long for the day when I can take such a journey.
It is funny to see an "outsiders" veiw of my Nation, where you did not know what "Paul Bunyon" was, or "Grits" (yes they are better off not eaten) these things I simply thought everyone knew about. I have traveled extensively abroad, but never looked at my own Nation from an "outsider". After 20-30 pages of your report it was obvious you were becoming "one of us" (hope that does not scare you . Anyhow, I think you missed one of the greatest motorcycle attractions in our great Nation, the "Olympic Mountains" of Washington state. I am a veteran of these mountains, and an executive chef by trade. If you ever get out our way, I promise the best riding/views/food you are gonna find on this Planet.
Anyway, thanks for a wonderful, inspirational report. And I apologize for the dick-head harley dudes, and the theives, but I am sure you found that most of us "Yanks" are really good blokes.
Sean, Lowely KLR 650, but willing to take you to the ropes in the twisties...

As MikeO's agent in the Pacific Northwest it falls upon me to scout out new riding opportunities for his future travels in this area. Mike simply doesn't have the time , what with so many fans and all. With that in mind, I will take you up on your offer to him, er, me, of the best riding ,views and food....
when do we start?!
Cheers,
jorge

Incredible journey and a great report. I know I am a bit late, but I'm glad for the recent posts that caused me to stumble upon it.

This photo is quite amazing to me, and gave me goosebumps when I first saw it:

Nice work!
