Looking promising...

The waeather for this weekend is looking like there may some potential. Anyone up for a ride? (Hey, TBlume, ya listening?!)

Thinking pavement-oriented (big bike), a jaunt into Douglas County, and over to the coast, maybe?

I have Mrs. Duck's blessing, so let's ride!

The Mrs. is doing well and has her own massage practice now. The pets are good, Hurley says woof! The 640 is in pieces currently. It needs a new plug and wire, tires, etc.... and stragely enough it has a weird idle issue..sound familiar? Idle sticks at like 3-4k sometimes. anyway, hope to see you soon G.

Lets see a plan man ....If the rains stay away I could stretch the legs on the Uly. I recommend a late start to make sure it aint frosty. Frost is for beer mugs.

I'm thinking meet up at Gillespie Corners 10ish on Sunday, back roads down to Winston area, 42 to the coast, up 101 to Reedsport, and back over the hills via Smith River. Lots of opportunities for lunch along the way. I've been up and down Smith River a few times (but it's still pretty), but haven't been out 42 through Coquille, etc. for over thirty years.

Also open to other ideas or variations.

I'd forgotten how much fun American V-8 and standard transmission can be. My new to me bike dragger arounder is a 1991 full sized Bronco 5.0 and 5 speed.

Yep, we've still got a Convertible 90 Mustang 5.0 / 5 speed with that same motor,
....but with about 1500 less pounds to haul
And a 1974 Full-Off top Convertible 350 V-8 / 4 speed Chevy Blazer.
And a 04 Dakota Quad 4.7 V-8 / Manual 5-speed.
Automatics ain't nooooo fun.

That Bronco probly gets similar highway mileage as your v-6 Ranger did, no?

Actually about 2 mpg better plus the Bronco is paid for so I can go a lot farther with out the Rangers 500/mo payment. I bought the Ranger because my wifes 6cyl '07 mustang get's 28 mpg on the freeway the best I ever got out of the Ranger with the same 6 cyl was 18. Fuck that, I can drive a car I fit in comfortably and get better mileage with no payments. It was a no brainer, got the taxes back, figured that was my budget looked around and found the cream puff 91 Bronco with 104,000 miles for less than the tax return.

Fixed .........

Sorry I didn't make it last Weds. I really wanted to, but I wound up having to go to a client's site at 5:00pm (after hours) to fix their voice mail server. I didn't get out of there till 7:00pm, and figured all you burly adv'ers would have been gone by then.

I texted Link to that affect .......

I'm also looking for a new job with more "regular / standard" hours ...... and don't get me wrong. I am very appreciative that I have a job - it just seems more than not, when I'm about ready to go home, something comes up.

Anyhow ..... Hope you are all doing well, and I hope to see ya all next week.

Also - on a side note, once I have my new gear next week, that I can fit in comfortably, I'll be looking at riding. Yes, I've gained some weight which I need to lose, but until then, I need some gear that fits me properly. Hence buying used. I just scored (a few days back) a Kilimanjaro jacket for 125 - I'm happy about that. I still need to score some pants ...... I'm looking at some First Gear Katmandhu pants, with suspenders, because for some reason the suspenders are pleasing to me .........

I'm not happy about getting fat ........

G.
