Possibility of a bit of frost, but otherwise, tomorrow is looking spectacular.

Gillespie Corners (Lorane Hwy & Territorial) 10:00am. Looking forward to a great ride.

A bummer indeed.

Rest up, drink plenty of fluids (no, not booze), and get well.

No excuses, come late May!

They don't call it Adventure for nuthin...

402 miles door to door. butt sore and leftover lasagne for dinner. All is good!

Fun ride down to Myrtle Point for lunch. Hwy 42 , despite being more freeway-like than I realized, was a pretty ride. Got held up for a bit by the road work to repair a slide, and had fun working through the resulting clot of cages.

Turns out South Sister road to Alma from Smith River road was blocked by fallen trees. Of course we learned this almost all the way to Alma. Headed back down to West Smith River, planning on heading over Esmund Summit. We were able to negotiate two small trees fallen across the road, but the 10-incher stopped us. Had to head all the way back down to Reedsport to head north on 101 and home via Florence.

OMB and OregonSage, thanks for being great riding companions! I had a blast.

Saturday I did Eugene to Peoria Rd to Corvallis (visit eye doctor, because glasses broke). Then out to 34 to Walport and lunch in Yachats. 34 had a lot of sand on the road and roadside snow at the higher areas. From Yachats I went south on 101 to Florence and inland on 126. It never did get warm, but it was sunny and the heated vest did it's job.

Corrected my route to Walport.

On a second note; I did go thru Walton too. Just a bit later.

V-Duck's Big Adventure

It was a fine day for a little wandering. Three of us managed to throw down around 400 miles without things getting too pear shaped. We rode past quite a bit of this stuff..........

The first and last part of the day were a bit coolish....I saw a low of 43 degrees and a high of 66. V-Duck had a hidden agenda that he was keeping from us but lucky for us his timing was off by a week......

Since we missed out on the festivities we had to settle for some of this......

once we got rolling again we headed northish to the Smith River. There was plenty of water around and evidence of a lot more not very long ago.

Not long after this the plan received a bit of tweeking thanks to good old Mother Nature. We tried to go up over Oxbow but got stopped by trees and snow on the road. Next we attempted Esmond Creek but after a bit of log hopping and debris negotiation we were stopped by a large log surrounded by snow all the way across the road. We had a lot more climbing to do and knew it was only going to get worse so turn around again an hop over the logs again. unfortunately I had my hands full and didn't get any pictures in this section. I did miss a great photo op concerning a Buell and a log. We beat cheeks back to 101 and headed for home. Thanks for dragging us outside and forcing us to have a good time V-Duck.

Like this....

It was a good day, but OMB missed the pea soup fog at Fern Ridge. That truly suckethed

Tah Dah!

one of them is spozed to have a "d" in it somewhere mostly,,other than that they are exactly not the same!
I rode alleys in Bluejean on satday afternoon, then went to visit some hippies up the mountain,,,,then today, warshed the shiny black 'for sale' beemer, shoved it indoors, covered it all up, and rode chores on that grasshopper bike via alleys in spfld today,,took back a POS bick lift, and rode down near the river,,then explored some more alleys,,Spfld has block after block of navigable laneways,,but I think for an overall intrusion application,, yoojean would make a better challenge,,neyborhoods are not layed out in so much a grid,,that said,,Spfld has tons of miles of alleys, and not so much tangled due to renovated snooty nayborhood attitudes that close off alleyways,,screw that,, let's ride Hendricks park! slowly and quietly of course,,
