Yes I am. I took "bumpy tire'd bikes" to mean that my Gripster-shod Klr wouldn't be a good idea on this ride. If that's inaccurate, I'd like to try to bring up the rear and keep up while not falling down. I'm ok with sitting this one out if that's what's advisable.

I await recommendation/assessment.

Wtf!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

or as I prefer,,Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey!

and you thought it stood for worldwideweb! HA!
I"m about to enlist a Melotonin capsule as a sleep aid,,cuz this is WAY ahead of my normal bedtime.
TBlume,,call me when you wake up,,just in case I smash up my alarm clock into little tiny bits of plastic and guts, scatter them remnants all around my prison cell, and then go back to sleep,, I've done it bee 4.
The fact that an American citizen has to make a personal sacrifice (loss of sleep, git up with Earl Lee Innamornin) just to see and have fun with his friends is incongruous to free thinking and liberty!,,but I can do this,, "I don't want to, and I won't like it,,but I can do it!" (my brother StevenE ,,upon leaving)

Craaaaaaaap....

It's 0558hrs and I just woke up with a raging headache and a bad(worse) attitude. I didn't check this thread until just now cuz all yesterday/yesternight was spent with a swell couple a guy's who helped make a box of Polish "machine parts" come together into a sweeeeeet......"machine of another sort".
(Feinswine can kiss my weapon owning/building ASS)

I'm gonna wuss out, stay home and drive the headache away with massive quantities of caffeine and let someone else be the "back end of the line" today. Heck, the weather goobs say no water shall fall from the sky for most/all of next week! I know a Klr nearby that would LOVE to see me headin' it's way with a wash bucket and love in my eye.

Y'all have fun and SLOW DOWN!
(there's gotta be at least ONE other rider in the group who thinks you OFF's ride too fast)

wow,,

well THAT was a day's ride for sure.
Home a 6:10,,wore out but safe.
I dropped the KLR 3 times in the snow, and twice due to crossing future firewood,,,Yer gripsters would not have liked the 132 miles of 3 ft. deep snow ,,and you have had some plastic to replace after a launch up the bank,,just to fall down the other side. I think one rider made it without assist. The pic of piling rocks to make ramps was another fun event,,but we all got lifted over pretty quick, and on down the road to the next impasse we passed!
This day was part ride, and part work!
My back is killing me,,I'm sore everywhere,,(gonna be painful tomorrow) and I had a blast! However, I remember why I hate the KLR in the snow,,it's heavy to pick up, and thanks to Felix, and everyone else,I made it thru the day,,Thanks OMB, another successful day,,nobody got hurt,,and nobody got arrested!

That was a fine way to end the year. Thanks to all who participated. 142 miles door to door is what I showed for the day. Every one of them were a bit chilly and some were a bit greasy feeling but dust was not a problem. Tasty lunch at LunaSea made for a nice break and chance to regroup for the return trip.

Moar Pitchers....

KTM's Require a moment of prayer to deliver the rider to the intended location.

Are we there yet? How much more of this crap? Tell me again why I follow you guys........

Survivor !!!!

As always I wish I had taken more pics. The big Bear tracks in the snow would have made a neat shot. No gratuitous food pics this time either.

Sometimes a bike just gets tired and needs to rest

Yep, once in the snow and twice on leaf-green crap-slippery pavement.

Best part about that bike: pick it up, start it up, and ride away from the scene of the crime.

I, too, had a blast today. Thanks, again, OMB and everyone. It was truly a collaborative effort!

that's no BS,,you cannot possibly do the ride we did today all alone,(unless you are Captain Intrepid , or some such),and the more hands for lifting bikes make it all the easier.,,I need a bigger saw,, not that I had mine with me today,(and if I had it,, it wooda only cut them branches on the first fat log we crossed, but,,,DANG THAT WAS FUN!
Good to meet Rob,,,,Hannsanfeet, good to ride a bit witcha,,started out with 9,,then,,before the snow, and logs and trees,, sorry we lost Tom,,he would NOT have liked the snow,,I just loved it,(NOT!), I slept with it,,layed with it,, splayed out on it,,got a personal close contact!,,But,,,,if you biff a klr pig,,,way better than rocks,,no shit!
todays splash makes me want one of them there Hodna red bikes,,a whole lot less to pick up when I fall!

Note to ignorant self,,
Hey Dumbass!,,why not pack yer heated liner with ya for the dark ride home?,,dumbass!

I took the laptop out and sat next to the Klr. We looked at the pics posted above and....while impressed with the "Adventure" part of the ride...we both came to the conclusion that Gripsters would have (as stated by peterman) ultimately NOT been good medicine for this ride.

I gotta get a rear tire and I guess I'll lean towards a little more 'bumpy' during the selection process.

(I'm still jealous of the fun had by you FF's.....or was that just 'layers' for the cold?....nah....you're FF's)
