my vote tomorrow is the coast via 38 starting at noon in cottage grove-ride over, eat somewhere then go whatever route you feel like riding home

I slept in until ten and then hit 110 miles of gravel and mud, just poking around and exploring in the coast range. Damn I need to get a spot tracker, couple of hairy spots and I was all by my lonesome. But I managed to keep rubber side down the whole day.

G-funk, Peterman, PapaD I scouted us a killer loop for tommorrow that should please everybody.

Meet up at 10:30 or so?

Sounds good! It should be warm enough to get out of bed by then.

Greetings and Salutations Amigos .......

I spoke with Jet on the phone just a little while ago .....

As I said to Jet "I'm a Special Needs Rider" - Because, to be blunt, of my ranuards (sp?) - and since I'm going to try out my compression suit I won't be able to wear my heated gloves. I do have colder weather non plug-in gloves, but I would like to meet in crow at 12:00pm.

From our conversation a bit ago, Jet thought we'd still have plenty of time to get a good bunch of riding in from what he scouted out today.

For me - it would just be warmer then, than at 10:30.

What I did today, was ................ get the DRZ ready for tomorrow.

First - I learned some stuff today ... it was kinda like a self tech day for me.
I didn't realize that all fuel tanks for all types of bikes are vented. I called my mechanic friend this morning and asked him about the vent tube for my Acerbis tank - cause well .... the instructions that came with it were basically for shit.

Clint said - bring the bike and all the shit down here, and do it at the shop.
So I did .......... Day went off without a hitch.

Simple stuff, but still ..... I got to know the bike better ...... here's some pics;

Before swapping rims:

After .....

Some Plastics, Saddle, and stock tank off ......

Acerbis 4.25 gallon tank on ......

I also did a good once over on the bike, checked the oil, air filter, chain tension, chain lube, and so on .........

So! Tomorrow - noon - at the crow store / gas station? Is that o.k. with everyone?

G.

Went for some gravel today up above fall creek,, 3 miles up the 1824 road we hit snow. I rode the GS and Bobby rode my KLR, and if noon is it at the crow store, then count us both in. See YFF's tomorrow.

20 mins after we spit up the fog lifted, and an hour later the frost was gone from the roads. I didn't go all the way to Astoria but got the two check points I was after anyway. GPS says 382 miles with a 51 mph rolling average. Top speed was 91 proly passing a touron somewhere. Glad I got the north coast done early because it sucked today but really sucks later in the year.

Noon it is. Godammit Greg, that DR looks like it's ready for the apocalypse, best put some spikes on your shoulder pads and some war paint on your face. Nice job.

LOL link, am I kissy face? That cracked me up. Have fun riding your Top Gun bike on the road tommorrow, say hello to Goose for me. Be sure to take a ride into the danger zone, and play some shirtless volleyball with Iceman too.
