Very unlikely that I'll make it for a DS ride this weekend.

Estimated delivery of the crucial part is Tuesday...

If you are waiting for the turn signal relay....put the old relay back in and ride the thing. You have hands use them to signal old school like.

If your bike runs, turns and stops RIDE IT!!! all the other stuff hanging on your bike is just gingerbread and actually isn't necessary.

Oh. Well. Duh. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
Another case of being too focused on a goal (not reassembling the darn thing more than once).

Then I gave it a little thought and realized I don't even have to take it apart again to replace the relay. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Sheesh.

By now you're prolly thinking "for such a smart guy you sure can be stupid." What can I say...?

So, ready to lead another merry chase? Meetup at the MonkeyRanch tomorrow?

Well so far today I have made coffee, built a fire in the shop stove, swapped out the battery in KaTie-M, pulled the air filter for cleaning, pulled the front wheel off the XR, changed the tire, balanced the wheel, repacked the wheel brgs, ate breakfast and watched todays episode of "GOLD FEVER". At this rate I should have most of the chores done by the end of today and need a good ride.

The sun broke through about 9:30 and it is showing a balmy 42.3 degrees. Don't forget the TIME CHANGE tonight! Lets say meet at the Monkey Ranch at 10:00 tomorrow. That will give the ice a chance to melt. My plan is to explore an area off the Suislaw that I haven't been in for 35-40 years. Probably be a bunch of out and back stumbling around but the hope is to find a way through which will make a loop ride. Big bikes wouldn't be much fun on this adventure.

All my bikes are big- smallest runner is G's 640, can I play? Would the DR with its peanut tank and bumpy tires be acceptable?

I don't consider the 640 a big bike, its medium at best. Just don't fill the tank to the top if you think its going to be too much.

The 640 would be fine. The DR would be fine also. I am riding my 450 with about a 100ish mile range. Distance should be on the short side..famous last words. We will be on a series of old logging roads. If we find our way through I will be pleasantly surprised. I think the area is basically land locked but maybe not. Since it isn't Dope season we may not even be shot at.

Can't split myself in half

I know I push for a trail ride this weekend, but I need to test run the 990 prior to my Baja trip. I'll be on a different ride and my 450 will be jealous. Take pictures and show me what I missed at Quackers.

Y'all missed another epic merry chase led by Ole Monkeybut, hisself.

Just Superpacman13, our fearless, leader, and myself. Not too many miles -- 100 -- or so, but oh what an adventure!
Unfortunately, I had very little idea where we were most of the time, so any narrative from me would be about as useful as a poop flavored lollipop. Suffice it to say, I had a blast. Even managed to keep it upright... ...most of the time.

Thanks again, Larry for the great ride!
