Anybody been to the new Oakshire in the Whit yet?

We tried to cruise in yesterday evening (long after all y'all had bailed Quackers to get home for Jeopardy) for a bite & a beer or seven but they were packed. We were starving so ended up at Fisherman's market for fish & chips & beers instead.

The Hop Valley is coming along there.

Not sure if Falling Sky has opened yet down there. A lot of good beer within stumbling distance here pretty quick

Eugene + NewPlace = PACKED

....wait a few weeks, then try. Can't swing a dead Hipster without hitting 3 brewpubs anymore.... the crowds will dissipate.

Hey, man, you don't talk to G. You listen to him. The man's enlarged my mind. He's a poet warrior in the classic sense. I mean sometimes he'll... uh... well, you'll say "hello" to him, right? And he'll just walk right by you. He won't even notice you. And suddenly he'll grab you, and he'll throw you in a corner, and he'll say, "Do you know that 'if' is the middle word in life? If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you"... I mean I'm... no, I can't... I'm a little man, I'm a little man, he's... he's a great man! I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of silent seas...

Like art, one gallery-goer might proclaim " It speaks to me in a way that nothing ever has, it moves my soul past my pale exsistence into another level of colorful enlightenment" ...and his buddy might say " Dude, it's just a fucking Velvet Elvis!"

What do I know, I could be the gravelly floor in that silent sea on which you are, in all your spiney glory, taking a shit.

Drinking is an emotional thing. It joggles you out of the standardism of everyday life, out of everything being the same. It yanks you out of your body and your mind and throws you against the wall. I have the feeling that drinking is a form of suicide where you're allowed to return to life and begin all over the next day. It's like killing yourself, and then you're reborn. I guess I've lived about ten or fifteen thousand lives.

The heads. You're looking at the heads. Sometimes G goes too far. He's the first one to admit it.
