The problem with stealth camping around Coos Bay is that there is no BLM/Forest land nearby to slap a tent on, it's all in private hands. Go inland from Reedsport or Bandon and you can find some. If I had to bite the bullet and stay in a campground I'd vote for Cape Blanco near Port Orford, it's a really nice area with a remote feel.
???? We have two campgrounds on the Sixes river, a couple off the Coos Bay Wagon Rd, Loon Lake, and 3 on Smith River Rd. That's just the BLM, there are also county and State Parks. Stop by the District office and get a district map it'll help. Here's an online map site:http://www.blm.gov/or/gis/geoscience/transport.php

Nope not yet, been buying shootin' sticks. Next up is playin' wack-a-wapito. I do want another bike or rather two, a big pavement mile muncher and something with a dirty mind.

I heard the Loony Lake campground was day use only right now due to a water shortage.

Yep, we have two wells the main one is drawn down too low to make good water from and the other doesn't produce enough water to run the campground. The problem is that we got no sustained rain since January. Caught us by supprize and there are lots of ideas, but none that'll open the campground today. I was told last week that I need to attend think tank meetings starting in October.

Cycle gear will balance tires free if you bring them in.

Beads work or don't depending on who you ask, same goes for the liquid stuff.

Mounted the new avon and used maxxis, had them balanced- felix, your balancer is off enough to make me want to design and build something better...

I'm good for a ride though; I'll have a new avon rear next week and the hand me down will make a good smoke show wednesday

Two strikes against a ride on Monday:

1. Everybody and their brother will be on the road returning home from their end of summer party weekend. I really don't want to be on any sort of major road Monday afternoon.
2. The weather. Depending on which weather service you believe in, chances of rain are pretty good on Monday. Tomorrow is supposed to be pretty nice -- low 80s here in the valley.

I'm thinking a ride down to Crater Lake tomorrow just might clear my sinuses. And, as always, I'm open to other ideas...

Crater Lake would be a great ride as long as crowds don't bother you. I can't get away til monday myself. I'm planning on riding somewhere Monday on the sixfiddy. I agree the Main Highways will be crowded. Most of the backroads will be deserted as people will be focused on getting home. Originally a coast range ramble was the plan. if the thunder storms aren't too bad a rip to Manleys for Chicken could be fun also. An early start for a mountain ride would be a good idea as T storms are worst in the afternoon.

the 990 up the backyard ride

I made a movie to share with the friends I rode with in Baja to show them where I take the 990 close to home. At the risk to taking a few "comments" , I will share it with you Advrider. And yes, I have since fixed the tractor cover.

MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY!

Guess what day it is? C'mon C'mon Guess what day it is? That's right it's a HOLIDAY!!!!

Meet at Quackers at 0900 for an interesting trip to Manleys for Chicken parts. I'll be herding my 650. I don't care what you show up on, but no snivelling about gravel, dust, rocks, sand or any other debris in the roadway. This is a DualSport Ride.

For those that are Calenderically Challenged that would be tomorrow....

Great ride today! Minimal Traffic, perfect weather, good company and really tasty chicken for lunch. Riding home watching the Sunset was intense.
