Went to look at a baby Magna this afternoon. Thinking about it. Probably not for a money maker, just an around town putt putt bike compared to the big bike

For twice the money, you could have one less cylinder

Damn, I thought our 16 degrees was cold
My threshold isn't the temperature, as much as how long I'm exposed to it. My 25-ish minute commute (an hour if I make time for the fun way in) is about it at anything below freezing (it's a dry cold).

My heated jacket quit working last year on the SNOWY 500 mile ride back from Brookings last April. It was snowing HARD past Crater Lake and on 97 through Bend, but not sticking at probly 34. It was quite miserable, because I was COUNTING on that Gerbings and didn't have enough layers otherwise. I haven't touched that pos Gerbings since, in disgust. I will NEVER trust it again.

My current battery has given me four years and about 40k miles. It doesn't start with this cold stuff, but works OK otherwise. I've been using the 2a charger for about an hour each morning, and it keeps starting fine. Last night, she wouldn't start in the office parking lot (no charger at work) for the trip home, already 23 degrees at 8pm, so I had to drive the Apple Van home

This morning, again at 16 degrees,....I'm smiling just a bit knowing that I have to drive the van back into town this morning . I guess I'll have to leave Punkin on the trickle charger all day/night now, until I order a new battery. I guess I got my money's worth outta that last one, though

Funny, my KLR battery died yesterday also, guess you are supposed to add water to those things after all (was dry). I had checked it 6 months ago. Wierd thing, is my LED Taillight started acting up, I though it was the Circuit Board in it (WOW Taillight), but now looks like it's pre-cursor to a failing battery. First ride to work in the car in a couple of months.

One of my Gerbings gloves died recently also, instead of sending it back (they have a lifetime warranty you know), I opened up the inner zipper and found an obvious wire break - a little solder and the've been working find the last few weeks. There's a big zipper on the inside of the jacket, since you a Low Voltage expert, might be worth a little look - it's just wires.

Seems like half of riding motorcycles is fixing broken shit.

Oh, I'm sure I can fix it, but I'm still disgusted with it after that nasty trip, and kinda just refuse to fuck with it, or even send it back. It pissed me off that bad; I was quite miserable, and a cramped up neck muscle hurt for a week after. Thank Dog for hot tubs

Except, now the warranty may be voided for anything else that might go wrong.

I doubt they could tell, as poor as the factory solder joints looked inside my jacket. Mine was one of the last chinese ones before they moved production back to the US. Now they cost $50 more, of course.......
