Question Need LA (Irvine) Get Outa Town Routing

I am flying down to Irvine and driving back to the bay area on Friday and I am looking for another route the will avoid the dreaded LA traffic if at all possible. Normally I go 405 north and then pick up Hwy 5, that stretch of 405 can be a real bitch with traffic. Any suggestions?

Or take 5N to 57N to 210E to 15N to 395N to 80W. Much nicer route than through the central valley.

good luck finding any decent route on a friday. I'd just try to leave as early as possible and suck up the 5N the whole way.

Got chains?

405 > 605 > 210 But only if you start before 2:00.

Get yourself to the 57 north then take 210 west, anytime after noon on friday sucks whichever way you go, but this is your best bet.

All traffic comes into Orange County so you'll be fine on the 57N at 8 am.

just rode up to San Jose today from L.A.

Take the 57 to the 210 and then out to the five. I left at 10 am and it took over 3 hours to get past burbank from the 5. After that it took 5 1/2 hours to get to San Jose. Friday will be worse getting through L.A. so get up to the 210 as fast as you can. I'll be making the return drive tomorrow night.

I would if I was going by myself, however I am driving back with my college student son and there is no way he wakes up at 5:00am. I'll be lucky if he is ready by 8:00
