I had a great time guys and it was cool meeting a few new inmates. Now I know why I don't go to LA in the afternoon on a bike, splitting lanes SUCK. Good thing I was only pushed onto the shoulder twice from the idiots out there. However, I will join you guys on a Saturday or a Sunday Church ride with Reverend Razr soon
Over 16 1/2 hours on the bike and 300 miles. I had a feeling we were in for a long cold night and I was not disappointed. I left the house at 4:10 pm and got to the Shell Station about 5:30ish. Fun ride to Newcombs for some tasty carne asada tacos. Thanks Cathy! Too bad for you that it wasn't the current rate $40 vs $16 It seemed like the temp dropped at least 10 degrees during dinner, because it was cold!

I couldn't even begin to tell you what trails we were on, so you'll have to wait until the locals chime in. I took a few photos but this Olympus camera is weak and not worthy. Sorry for the quality, but you should be able to make out some of these pretty faces!

In the Mills Creek parking lot.

It doesn't get much fuller, closer and brighter then this! What a beautiful evening for a ride!

After a cold 55mph(+) ride from LA to the OC at 4 am, we met up with Jim and Jeff at the Maple Springs gate who were kind enough to have ice cold Heinekens waiting, even though I could have used a huge warm coffee or cocoa. This is our first stop 1/2 way up. By the looks of the clear sky, we were in for a beautiful sunrise, right?

Wrong, this is "sunrise" Cold, wet, and foggy. Riding up, you could not see 20' in front of you.
Note the last of the evenings ice cold adult beverages

I had thermal pants, a riding shirt, thermal shirt, jacket and liner, thin hood under the helmet and I was still cold. My cheecks were so cold they were bright red but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Final tally, 300 miles. Had fun, thanks all for a fun, fast, and safe ride and we'll see you again!
Later.............

Excellent ride everyone.
This was defintely one for the books. 16+ hours on the bike. Countless beverages consumed, no major wrecks, but lots of comedy

Met a few new FF's and wondered why I don't live closer to the Crest.

In the end the ride was killer and the finishers of the Marathon were:

TBarstow,
Espi

Notmybikemodelname

I think I've only ridden one other time when it was colder.

Still having a hard time, constructing thoughts, so I'll go back to bed now.

I just looked through the helmet cam pics. You'd think with 4 HIDs that one out of 2000 photos would have turned out, but no dice, still too dark.

I'll do more playing with it and hopefully on the next ride I'll get some good stuff.

Yes I did, I was right behind you two thinking about seeing if we could get three wide.

Razr, I really enjoyed watching you leave that trail of bread crumbs out into the weeds for Cribaby to follow.........and then me to follow Cribaby. Dude, sorry for using your cycle as a bike rack

"cuddle fest"

twas a cold friday evening.
it was the brightest i've ever seen the moon!!!!
i met up with the other FF's around 7 at the Mill Creek parking lot.
festivities were in high gear!!

"who's the little guy scratchin at our ankles?!?!!"

Sito was having some KTM problems with his clutch, after a bandaid he got a head start to make sure he could shift...
after quenching my thirst, we're off doing Lynx backwards.

kick ass. towards the end(actually the start) of Lynx both creek beds had water. yes, its that time of year !!!!

we all haul ass up 9mile to the Crest. i think it dropped over 10 degrees on the way up to Newcombs.
when we arrive we were met with a few FF's at the bar.
time for some grub and beer/margaritas.

after food and bullshittin , we gear up for a cold ride!
it dropped another 10 degrees. it was no joke in the mid 30's and with riding at 60, i have to thank heated grips !
we went to Monte Cristo Campground to start on Lynx.
we rode to the half way point for a beer break.
luv2race and notmybike had not shown up.
i ride down to check on things thinking of the worst....... they hadn't even left yet. they STILL drinking beers.
on the way up Lynx i was passing Sito in a rocky section of Lynx, and we rubbed shoulders a bit then my bike bounced his way and the next thing i know i was on the ground. launghing !
we end up in the Mill Creek parking lot again for another beer break.

luv2race or luv2blowupthings

we go down to Wzltech Trail and all of us go off the trail in the infamous corner. :lol
once on Aliso Cyn i fucked up twice while just fucking around. the one right hander i was asleep at the wheel. went up on a berm, then kept on going.
beer break at hill climb.

this is what the night really looked like.....beer goggles

a few of us FF's did the hill climb, i did it, then took up a dare to do the other across the road. ....... i couldn't find it.
we ended up going up Moody Cyn.
no real stories there, just a fun , fast, blurry ride!!!

we did have a beer break at Perspiration Point(piss-eration)

luv2race is ready for cuddle time to begin

at the top on Santa Clara Divide i noticed my temp up in the H .
we had a fast supermoto way down to Angeles Forest Hwy and as more clouds were rolling in it was down right freezing!!!
we parted ways with Cribaby, he parked his party mobile in the Mill Creek parking lot, and the rest of us headed down the hill.
i hit the 210 north as the rest went south to the O.C.
what a ride!!!!
now i just need to fix the radiator....

see you guys at the Xmas party ! ! !
