Thanks to drcool my ice tires are ready , haven't mounted them yet, not sure if it's going to be bikes or sleds for new years eve drag races at the farm

They'll get installed in short order when the time arrives. In the meantime build yourself some tire covers out of strips of old carpet.

Have a good look at the front of the small trailer as well. We need to install a tiedown bar that is about 4 feet wider than the trailer at the front. That way we get 3 bikes across the front and the keg at the back .

If you come to Brantford for ice around Christmas you should put the sled in the trailer as well. More sleds at Rob's on New Years is better. More people at Rob's at New Years is better still.

My balance gets all funny on New Years. And we know sleds and quads are for the balance deficient(balance impaired).

There is 4 to 6 inches of ice on Lake Joe as of yesterday, and with this weeks warm temps, it should level out nicely.

the farm we are racing at new years eve is mine so the bike will there with its dirt tires on, just sure if there will be enough snow for sleds, if not it's bikes. Unlimited drinking and racing on private property, lot's of room to pass out afterwards for anyone who shows up, open invite to all, just bring food and booze so I don't have to try and figure out amounts, drcool's keg will be there also, and fire works at 12

You actually want heavy for an ice wheel/tire combo. Damps out a lot of the shake and shimmie - improves traction and settles the chassis. All those tire liners and stuff really add up.

I thought there was something on the gyro that kept the bike up but never realized how much weight you need to increase the traction on ice

Les came through with my new rear carcas yesterday and 2 hours later it's ready to mount. 2 hours after there is a tube in it but I'll be damned if I can close it without a bunch of clamps. I am thinking about 4 quickgrip type bar clamps but I'm not sure if they'll have the balls. Anyone got a guess.

The tire is a monster and I expect this will be a lot diffeent than last year.
