You'll take what I give you and be thankful...

Plug looks prettu good. Big singles like some extra fuel up top.

And raising the needle or lowering the clip isn't gonna do anything for the top end Bud

EDIT...
I guess what I'm saying here, in retrospect is those trails used to be a bit of a secret...
The secret is out, and it has been for a long time...

Oh, ya... great trails there. Don't take this as a personal attack on you, but the world does turn. It'll leave you behind...ha, has left me!
I want the trails to stay as they were when I first discovered them.
My first trip there was in 1976 to go get some tie rod parts off an abandoned willys off the cliff of the red oak trail. We parked and off loaded at the beginning of the empire creek trail. I was hooked on the wonderful paths traversing above creeks and over ridges/saddles.

It's almost unbearable there now do to the shear amount of humans and the invention of the mountain bike. Coupled with the folks who make a living transporting mtn bikers to the top.

Before modern history the trails were smooth walking paths with an occasional horse traffic. There was no such thing as a tire groove or a washboard. You would be lucky to see another soul all day.

If you go, tread lightly and enjoy the scenery! I've seen people reguard lavenzola like a race track! That didn't go through to the A tree until we created a ledge with our boots along the washout above smith creek.

Like I said no attack...
In fact bring your XR. I'll be there july 19-22 based out of gold lake.

Gold lake...as seen from our camp site at the 4X4 jeep camp.

OK, even with my glasses and the magnifying glass it sure was a pain to see the numbers on the pilot jets. Getting old sucks.

I have a 210, 220 and a 230 main.

No 17.5 pilot.

A 20 pilot if you want.

sweet! yeah the numbers are way small compared to the kehins

I have the 20pilot in the carb now

Ill take the mains(220/230) for sure I think a 230 will be perfect as the xr's only kit comes with a 240main and the needle in 3rd

awesome! thanks

Why not just start a thread here on ADV and post a link to it here, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy it !

How did you hurt yourself ? Did the pig misbehave ?

Good luck on the healing !!

maxxis desert it rear NOT BAD

hey dudes so just a little update on my maxxis desert IT rear

Ill post a pic soon

it seems to handle the tarmac really well and with high pressures like 25psi in the rear it behaves quite nice and wears better than low, obviously

whats not good is it seems howevere that Ill be getting 1k miles out of it...

this is 70/30 dirt tarnac

I just did 250 miles or so these past few days and I can see the knobs flattening out quite a bit

Interesting note is that the pirelli scorpion mx pro upfront handles the tarmar really well

I got into some twisties yesterday coming back home and the damn tires felt great!

anywhoo

later

Hey Klaus,

Wow that sucks man !!
Hope all goes better than expected with the healing process !

Yes my German isn't bad, it just takes me 10 times longer than english
I'll have a look for your report on xl600.de !

I know it sucks to upload these big kind of build reports. But if you manage to do it in English, I'm sure someone else would like to read it too !

Cheers !

EDIT: Can't find it, can you post a link to the thread on xl600.de ? :P

Hey Christian,

Yea I've hd my cooler for a little over a week now.
I can only work on my bike in my garden though and so far the Dutch summer has been typically Dutch. Meaning that everytime I want to / can work on my bike it's either raining buckets or about to rain buckets

Today is good though, just came back from a little ride to warm up the oil to drain it.
Gotta wait a while now, as we speak my oil is a little over 115 Celsius ( 240 F ) , which is exactly why I bought the cooler

Once I get the sucker mounted I'll be sure to give you an update
