Jeff, Wondered how your journey was going...
Didn't realize there was such a high number of riders. Only XR600!!! I guess the white bikes are getting surpassed... No other kickstarters... ![]() Everone seems to have been completely geared up for this one! Great to hear that your bike and you did so well on this run.

When in doubt, just look at the situation from another angle and use your common sense, that'll get you most of the way. When still in doubt, post it here for discussion I got one tip for you, expect a load of oil to still come out of the engine when you pull the ignition and/or clutch covers off.

![]() You couldŽve warn me too! I made a mess, the engine was on the end of the workbench and it spill a bunch of oil on the bench, lower bench, tennis shoes, floor... not pretty! One more, make sure your allen keys are good with sharp edges or youŽll be cracking your head after stripping a few... IŽm rebuilding mine from the groung up too and tomorow IŽll start posting the engine tear down which you might find helpfull. Search for mcma 650l thread too, heŽs the man. |

Question: if we were to have these custom tanks that we've designed for the XR600/650L roto-molded, would anybody want one? We're thinking that we might make kits available (would include things like the custom subframe, carbon/kevlar rear fenders, airboxes, custom seats, etc.). But that stuff is no big deal, because we're making these parts for ourselves anyway and they don't require much of an up-front investment in tooling. The tanks on the other hand, are going to be expensive to have rot-molded, so we'd love to know if there's any interest before we decide how to proceed. They would be available as part of a complete kit, as mentioned above, or could be purchased separately if anyone wanted to do their own thing with the rest of the bike (making their own subframe, seatpan, etc.). Capacity is going to be somewhere around 3.5-4 gallons. Not looking for any commitments, and we won't be taking any money before we have parts ready to ship. Just trying to gage interest, so please post-up in this thread.

basicaly, i jsut put a screwdriver in there, and jam it in there hard enough to hold it in place so it doesnt turn back correct? or am i suppsoe to relieve the tension on it somehow?
