The NX650 has 6 splines and was spec'ed with 15T up front. That has been discontinued.

The GB500 also was spec'ed for 15T -- and is now discontinued.

the 45 on back does a nice job of taming down the revs, however I still feel that on the road the xr needs a 15 front so I will be looking for a 15-45 like you had...

Not sure what the top speed was, faster than I was comfortable with nobbies on the road. Cruised at 130 kph and still had plenty of throotle left, not reving too hard at all. 14-48 was buzzing at 130 and still broke traction with a blip of the throtle on the dirt roads.

anybody got a pic of oil coolers up by the headtube where an xr400 cooler sits?

I ask because Im wondering if the USDS made it too tight to fit in there...

just looking for ideas

I remember that an asutralian fellow with the awesome modded xr600 with electric start had a homemade cooler up by the headlight, but I dont know if it was fixed or what...

I think his forum name is rhmc630 or something like that...

allright so I found out the coolers are made by setrab...

they are mounted on the forks...so they turn

so who has experience with the oil lines and connections? for a flexible oil cooler mod

That's something I've been thinking about also.....something low-buck but effective and durable. But I don't know, I don't think I'd want the lines to the cooler flexing every time I turn the bars....

Maybe something off a VW engine or something....

This is what I did on an XR650L

I have the 10 row which is overkill,,,but a Harley dealer was selling it for $75 brand new. I made a bracket to mount the cooler on, from a piece of flat steel,,,it needed rubber washers to stop it from vibrating. The guard is a radiator protector for a KX500. I made sure the hoses could reach and then covered them with plastic wire covering like the XRL has for wiring harness. I have about 2000 miles no problem. I run easily 20 degrees cooler.

I still think Marks cooler is the bees knees,,, looks factory. Mine looks frankenbike

This picture BEGS the question...How tall ARE you? You have bar risers + ROX Risers + the tallest bars I have seen on a dirt bike.

here is my oil cooler setup
it was a car (70's Holden HQ) auto trans cooler cut down & mounted under my custom (converted to H4) hella rally 1000 lights.

make sure the oil/fuel hose you use the ID is the same as your oil line ID - DO NOT RESTRICT THE OIL FLOW.

Just scored some 1991 XR600R cartridge forks to upgrade my 1988 forks.

I need to get these overhauled and resprung for my 220lbs. Any recommendations for a shop

? So far I have only talked with Factory Connection.

I am 6'3" with long arms and legs. I have it set up so I can comfortably (without being hunched over) ride standing on the pegs. I could actually use another inch or so
