good stuff

you guys need to ride down here so we can have some beers and ride around...

thanks, btw... the bike is always an ongoing project...its part of my life...jajaja I rescued it from BOXES completely blown apart...thanks to steve and many many many others here it started for the first time in like 10 years about 3 years ago...then some rebuilds, some mods, a crash that almost totaled it and then well, some good mods again! you know how a bike should progress over its lifetime!

TASTEFULLY

cheers bud
I moved to the area in 92.....so I was here while you were up here racing, pretty cool I had my XL's and XR around then too, would of been nice to meet you and show you the sites You never know, this adventure thing is starting to rub off on me.....you might see me down there sometime in the next couple years, maybe even bring the wife

And you've done awesome with bringing your bike back to life, it looks great....I've got fork envy

From what I understand its much harder to get xr bikes and parts down there as cheaply as we can get them in the states...you've done good

Were you hurt very bad when you almost totaled the bike? Sounds scary

not not really, the bike seemed to suffer more...tweaked frame, subframe, and forks...totaled rims...

me, a broken toe, sprained ankle and needed to stitch it back up, bruised ribs and scars...

hey if you ever get the time you can check my rebuild thread which is pretty much the bikes biography as well as mines these last 4 years or so! jajaja

its called "xr600 rebuild, yes, budget maybe"

pics galore

I suck at linking sorry

see you down here

WOW!!
Ocean really quiet!

Сhristian, Great photos, beautiful nature around you. I'm jealous!

There, far beyond the horizon you can see Russia -- Kamchatka: it is also the world of volcanoes, geysers, fishs and even bears).

Small obstacle for overcome, and we can drink some beer together!!!

I'm not a sailor, but my great-grandfather was a military sailor and my family connected with the sea, and I was born and grew up by the sea. My dream is to travel on a yacht in the future. (if I can have as much free time)

Hey fella´s,

Hypothetical question:

If I were to hook up too much power demand to a stator as in for example too much Wattage demand from the headlight, what would happen i.e. what would give?

Would I bust the rectifier/regulator?
Would I trash the stator?

Those damn electricals have always been a bit voodoo for me

that has been my recent experience

my headlight is very dim during the ride...I use a 90watt headlight and a 5 watt tailight

its still too much for the 100watt leg iof the ricky stator when you factor in heat, length of wires and loss if wattage if you will when passing through the regulator rectifier

for that reason I will go down to a 55 watt headlight

cheers

Alright, good to hear I´m not risking having to buy new components.

The situation is that I plan to fit a new headlight sometime before spring.
I plan to fit it so that both the ´wide´ and the focused bulb are on at high beam.

Thanks guys

Back in the day on my XL600 I had a 55/100w headlight bulb and when riding at night when I also had my electric vest plugged in the light would drop out, go black when switched from lo beam to high. If riden long enough the vest would get cold and then when stopped the battery would be flat, drained since the charging system couldn't keep up. To much demand on the system.

You should run a battery. It acts as a storage buffer.
