I wonder what flows better..the 88 has a bigger hole without the baffle than the powercore

the magic is the dual headers...

XR600 battery pack

I have the original Baja Designs battery pack which is 8 AA NiCads. It fits the space but does not hold juice for long. Has anyone upgraded this pack with bigger capacity batteries or something else entirely?
Thanks

I would like to know too!

also how do you know the internal sizing of the beehive or chambers without specs? for example is the only indication of flow the size of the banjo fittings?

this will be my next project...my budget is $20...no fittings nothing...just tubing and clamps

Just use the "Search This Thread" tool above and type in "battery".

This looks like the best option:

Maybe it matters on some coolers, Iīm not certain.

My Jagg oil cooler specifies that oil flow direction does NOT matter

well Im back from my test ride dudes

first off the heat insulation works well, especially on the OIL PIPE that goes to the head..

the wrap keeps that line significantly cooler than before which is good, at least to the touch.

overall however my oil temps in the reservoir are similar with maybe a 5-10f drop normal riding...however when really hammering the poor bike temps are same for max. Im at around 260f max

I did a WOT plug chop at 95mph for about 10 seconds, jajajajajaja yeah HOW ELSE DO YOU GUYS WOT?

jajaja and saw something funny on the plug..Im a little down on power up on top compared to the fmf

the plug showed dark dark grey, BUT there were hints of metal flakes on it...

Ive never had that before on a plug chop, also it took me more effort to get to that speed indicating a lean mix up top

anywhoo great news is I jetted down on the pilot to a 12.5 on the flatslide and Im awesome there, plug shows nice tan and it will start in a second hot.

anywhoo

just some info for you guys

thanks for the tips on oil coolers I will see what I can fab up

ps. it just seems like I will never get to the mythical 100mph on my bike...im depressed about that

Oil by-passing the rings?

Material transfer from the piston. Better watch it bud.

It does not matter which side you plumb as in or out. The oil cooler isn't very complicated and as long as the in and out hoses are close to the same size as the existing xr600 oil lines you will be fine.

The specs of the oil cooler are not that important when being plumbed into the oil return line. I just cut the stock xr600 lines as well as the stock oil lines from the oil cooler and used automotive transmission hose and hose clamps to do up the plumbing. I can assure you that it's solid and after 2 brutal races and a good amount of trail riding I've had zero problems. I have $35 in my oil cooler setup so it can be done.
