alright dudes I need your help

I have a cutting out problem that is very substantial...

I cant imagine it being the stator again but damn...I went through all connectors and cleaned them up good...new kill switch and new headlight(im trying to sell the damn thing) but nobody is going to buy it if its cutting out so bad...

if its jetting then this damn mikuni is starting to give me the fits cause it was doing so good befiore...

the only substabtial change Ive done is put in a leaner 12.5 pilot it had the 17.5 before but it was harder to start and I had backfiring issues...

what else could it be?

should I just jet the pilot fat again and call it good?

is the bike telling me NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT SELL MY YOU UNGRATEFUL BIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH? J

geeze

You don't say when or at what RPM it's cutting out.

Go fat or go home.

Well Steve, I just got off the phone with Joe from Motion Pro and he physically went and compared the OEM XR600 cable they had in stock with the #02-0219 cable that you recommended and they were the SAME LENGTH He did say for $40 + shipping he could custom make one 3" longer for me.......... So I'm back to square one now. Anyone else have another suggestion?

You can make your own cable with a kit from Venhillusa.com, I use them a lot for cafe racers. They are great quality and the outer sheath has an inner core made from teflon. The braided wire is galvanized so you can solder an end on with a standard soldering iron and silver solder.

I hope this helps.

So what the hell do they sell for a longer XRL cable? I'll still stop by Friday as I am going down that way.

Again just a suggestion but these are a good quality option to OEM and custom applications, and the price is right.

I saw that the XR600 and XR650l +3" cable had the same part # yesterday but it didn't click. I just checked the web site and there are no OE length XR650l clutch cables only the +3" one that is the same as the XR600. Something fishy is going on here. If anything the XRL needs a longer cable with the cooling fins on the gas tank.

I have to talk to them about some throttle cables for my L using a XR650r carb. They quoted me $35.00 each.

That'll do it. No vent, no run.

Stalled my XRL in the middle of a river in Mendo because the vent tube was submerged in the water. Not fun.

next problem it could be, after you check air/gas/spark.... is if it's the spark problem, pull the loom out and go over it. I just pulled mine out, and unwrapping the entire harness, and I've found a handful of spots that need to be repaired for me to call this thing reliable. Maybe there's a wire with a split in 5 of the 9 strands, or there's an insulation that's torn and is grounding out..... You know, the easy stuff......
