So I FINALLY fixed the stalling issue my XR had

Replaced the crank pulse-generator, which was the absolute last electrical component that hadn't been swapped yet, and I freshened up and almost completely rewired the wiring harnes. I found one or two iffy spots in there. Added an extra frame ground for good measure.

In the end I have no idea which of the two turned out to be the miracle cure, and I don't much care

No more having to fiddle with the throttle at every light and the high idle

Gratuitous pic

It looks like the USD swap is on hold again since I'll be moving soon, but it's okay for now

How does everybody get their boot beneath the shift lever having it in such a position.. I have MX boots and had to raise the lever a whole lot ..

The toes of my boots are quite sleek, less cumbersome than those of MX boots.

Plus, my legs are pretty long, so my ankle will automatically be tipped forward a little when it's resting on the peg.

Whatever works for you works

If I can't get the toe of my boot under the shift lever I use the side of the boot. No biggie.

Congratulations and please tell me where I can order a tank cover like that? I had one on my old 1987 XR600 and loved it.

Thanks

Got the cover through these guys

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/HONDA-XR-XL-T...ht_1330wt_1186

Their website:
http://www.smebike.info/

It took some doing to determine colour, graphics etc. If you're going to order one with them be very specific!

Cheers

Little update from me: pig has fired up! Done some track riding, getting ready for a race in a week (shitty weather in here tho)... Didn't make the oil cooler upgrade, but think I wan't have the problem since the air temperature is going to be bellow 20C. Started the second kick with tm40 , tuning it a bit for a next test ride...

is there anybody out there that could advise towards if any sprocket combinations?

I will be feeling it out this spring/summer when i get it on the road but i was wondering if anybody had any experience on the matter and could weigh in.

thanks kindly.
I have an XRL , but I went down 5 teeth on the rear when I did my 17'' wheel swap , but I also have a low profile 160/60/17 rear tire.

Does it still pull going 5teeth down? or is on the throttle wheely-ing a forgotten thing?
