And I haven't even bought the parts yet, they are just sitting in the cart!

Maybe I need some motivation (and money), so someone post up a smick pic of their XR. Stock, sumo, bling-ed out, I don't mind. Just something to push me into making this process go faster.

PS Steve, I pm'd you about the gears.
Don't rush these things if you don't feel like rushing it.

A decent preparation is the most important part

Unless you're stalling for budgettary reasons, that just sucks

So I just saw this ad, http://link.marktplaats.nl/663026934

and first I thought it was just a hotcam, but the code on the camshaft is different from mine.
it reads ww-hcfe no:4 on the pics you can see in the ad.

Mine reads ww-hcjc no:4

Still the same cam? cant find anything on the hotcams website..

I seen such shaft (in XR650l) in Russia already.

Yeahhhh!!! Thanks everyone that's exactly what I needed, some sweet XR photos! Especially loving the action shots, looks like a blast.

Super keen to get all this sorted now, will put in the order tonight when the Aus dollar gets a bit stronger..weirdly waiting 3 hours means I save $17. Paypal and it's dodgy currency conversion.

Mmm bit of column a and bit of column b. I am still tossing up the high comp piston or not (at the moment it's a yes) but money is also a factor, being a uni student definitely has it's drawbacks.

how much more expensive is the high comp piston? I would only go mild comp like 10.5 nothing more man

at least if thats all your doing...

also in the heat youll want an oil cooler

ask me how I know that! jajaja

thats my next project, cheap diy cooler...

Im thinking of even just adding a simple finned return line instead of the traditional cooler on the headstock...

simple simple

Ill let you guys know

Have you found and alternative way to mount it or not yet?

Nope, there weren't a whole lot of options other than the way it's mounted right now.

I'll fix it when I swap in the USD's, have to make a new caliper mount then anyway

It's not a high priority, I don't really miss having a speedometer, the stock one never worked either

Edit: Trail Tech apparently came out with an Endurance II, looks way better than the old one and comes in black

You will probably have to shave a bit off of the caliper bracket to get the pick-up to fit. Line it up, mark it with a sharpie.... a few minutes with a file... done deal.
