Hey 2manyrides. I've just bought material for a tank pocket projects very similar to yours, are you able to post some pics of where your straps go that disappear under the tank? Does the flap dropping back from the fuel cap go all the way under to the front? Any particular area they move about too , forward, back ?? NICE !
Cheers Roost.

French gas mask bags riveted to a piece of hide cut to drape over the tank. The gas mask's two straps were cut off to make one down the center. It slaps around the tank's wings and through the front mounts to the frame, and back up through a cinch buckle in order to run full circle around the left and right "wings".

One strap on back is rivited to the hide and drops down past the rear tank mount, under the frame loop, and back up to a cinching buckle. All hidden under the seat.

This was before I added a strap horizontaly to keep the hide from catching wind up front. I've done some rough stuff with this and never had any trouble what so ever.

I don't currently have a shot available to see this with the seat off, but it just goes down, around the back bone and back up...

It does not shift around at all.
The bags were 10.99 at the army navy store and I had the cow hide. Had to get some more rivits...
Over all, cheap and very satisfied

Yesterday I sold the bike finally, to a friendly american who is staying at a beach about 3 and a half hours away from where I live...it was a long day but Im happy this guy takes my beloved LOLA, my 1988 xr600r like I called her...

She was the best bike I have ever had and the one that made me suffer the most...despite that she was always there, and I had some awesome rides on her that Ill remember forever.

If you are as OCD about your kid as you were with the bike, you will be a great Dad. Have fun on your new adventure.

SICASS Racing comfy seat

I have a seat (cover, foam, pan -- fully assembled) for a Honda XR600R. It is supposed to be extra comfy and squishy. But unlike the princess and the pea, my posterior can't tell the difference. I wen't back to the OE seat -- because it has "600R" emblazened down both sides. That way, everyone can see just what a bad mo-fo I am, riding my big, air-cooled, 1980's technology tractor (wouldnt want anyone confusing this bad boy with an XR250).

The seat isn't perfect. PM me with your email address and I'll send some photos.

I'm hoping to trade a bucket of chicken or 6-pack of hand-crafted IPA in a local trade since it would be a PITA to package and ship.

But if I can't do a local deal and I have to sell it....how 'bout $20?
A similar post that says just about the same stuff is in the flea market, but I figured a bit of "target marketing" couldn't hurt.

Please disregard the paint-shaker KTM in the photos below... he paid more for his fancy seat than I did for 3 sets of Trackmaster tires.

I need to do fork seals on my 00 XR6. Anyone with a good diagram? Know how to do 3/4 of it, but worried about getting the forks legs themselves separated.

Thanks for all your advice and keeping me on the right track. My bike would have been long gone had you and Steve not been here when I needed you's.
Cheers
