the fender rack takes the place of the back seat, while the other one goes over the tail light and lets you keep the back seat on.

Brett, did your top speed increase (or mpg) with the non o-ring chain?

so when i got the TU, i figure there was bout a gallon and a half in the tank from Romney. didnt ask, but that seems to be the general amount put in by dealers. last saturday after going about 80-90ish miles, the gas light came on. so i dropped in 2 galloons then. well gas light came on, right at 143 miles into the tank as i pulled onto my street today. figure that means i used up a those 2 gallons(most likely a little less). so at worse, bout 70 mpg. maybe not what yall are getting but it sure beats the hell out of 14 mpg that im used to

Too many variables to tell.
Not long after I fit the chain, I did the tire one size bigger, then changed the sprocket. Right when I replaced the chain, I felt the bike was quicker and took less throttle to maintain speed. I have 3 or 4 hundred miles on the chain and have not had to adjust it. I did about 70 miles today and the bike seems very spunky with the front sprocket and bigger rear tire setup, and the non O ring chain. I actually have to watch my speed most of the time. As far as mpg goes, its not hot out yet, the mpg seems to go up quite a bit in the heat, and since the front tire is bigger, I think the trip meter is slightly low. With most Japanese bikes, they seem to set the trip meter spot on and the speed 4 mph high. Since the bigger front tire makes the speed spot on, I suppose the trip meter reads somewhat low. So far, I seem to be getting around 75 mpg. That might be a real 80 mpg? |

I sent them a email to see when / if they intend to make one. I figure it will probably be Monday before I get an answer. FWIW

He might be out of them if enough people got one. Let us know what the response is. Thanks.

http://www.manracks.com/master#!__ma...-tu-250x--rack Brett, thank you for the response! Right now I'm shopping for new shoes for baby as well. (front is getting slippery in the rain) I'm looking at Duro HF308 D.S. tires for one main reason...A Ural Patrol will be in my future (at least a yr out due to lack of $) and since that's a tire commonly used on them, I wan't to check them out. http://www.motorcyclemaniacstore.com...torcycle-tires Not a bad price and they look snow worthy. (don't laugh, I ride in it)

I think I would buy some cheap snow tires just for winter, as riding around with knobbish tires all the time is noisy and rough, more so after they wear, plus you want to keep the tread sharp for the snow/dirt.
I like the Ural, but at that price, I might want a car. I never rode a sidecar rig, but I like the ability to lean on a bike, that is what makes it a bike. The fact that you could buy a new Honda fit for the same price and get better mpg and lower operating costs also turns me off, plus, the Ural would take up as much space in the garage. About $15,000.00 depending on the options... Still, the Ural looks like fun. I once ran into a group of them in the pinelands and they seemed to go through the sand just fine. And thanks for the Shinko tire info you posted when you got them (or the rear) I really like those tires at the price they go for. Quote:

front sprockett
At 6775 miles, I have finally changed the front sprocket. It's raining (sort of), so I only tried it out around the neighborhood. Nice at take off and 25mph in 3rd gear around town is quiet and responsive. If it's nice tomorrow, I'll get out for a long ride at different speeds.
My wrench skills are picking up
