What makes this the hard way? I'm not familar with Woolsey Wash. Sand? Sand worms? Gravel?
Sofias.......

Hard way

The only way to explain what I mean by the hard way would be to compare it to the aquaCaliente road which would be the easy way. This Woolsey wash way is the straight dirt road instead of the right dog leg. Yea there's a little bit of sand, a little more adventure, and probably NO silt. Sofias still has the Gringo special. We could also do the windmill road and then connect to woolsey wash road Its a bit more rugged but not that bad. Just throwing this out there to see if anyone wants to try after Christmas. Powerline road through Margies cove is a little more difficult with more sand washes but still doable with less air in the tires.

Down just north and/or west of Gila Bend....
Sorry, we forgot that Wookies don't go south so wouldn't know of this place.

That's because it's outside of Wickenburg.

I tried to go play in that area. No gas stations anywhere. Somehow I ended up in Buckeye. There is some beautiful country in there.

This sounds like fun. Post a date.

Christmas on Thursday so Friday or Saturday is good for me. I'll check with the people who run Sofias make sure its open
As a side note Sofias is named after the oldest daughter who now attends ASU. Her real name is Luz but everyone knows her as Sofia. She was in my 5th grade class many years ago. She is a heck of a softball player. The son is a senior at Gila Bend this year, Sergio was also in my fifth grade the last year I taught at Gila Bend.
I think we'll take the windmill road as it is much more scenic, then hook up with Woolsey wash road to painted rock ranch, lunch at Sofias and then the power line road which sort of follows 85. Then across the maricopas through Margies cove and end up at Tuthill road or gas line road depending on where you are coming from/going to

The powerline road along 85 is fun. If you keep your speed up that is. Almost made it back to hard ground.

Looks like friday works for most folk. I'm good with it also.
Anyone needing to park a trailer, (tat) my house is open. Pretty close to the meet place of old US80 and Agua Calinete. Maybe meet early for breakfast?
