New Clue.

The word "Fringe" (in my original post) appears in the name of a song in a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. The original Broadway production opened on March 31, 1943. Find the name of that song, and it will point you to the location of the tag.

Hello all. That was nice little ride!!!

The location was the corner of Route 10 and Route 10? Downtown Surry

well the clue that I used was the "And, is on a road whose route is akin to a binary number." which give me the numbers 1 and 0 for a 10 then looked up route 10 in this area, well now look at that. The musical "fringe" thing gave me nothing, guess I'm not very edgumicated.

history...

Surry County Courthouse Complex is on the National Register of Historic Places, established in 1796. The current courthouse was constructed in 1923. Today it serves as both the District Courthouse and County Clerk's office. One of the most complete collections of original county records in America continues to be housed in its vaults.

good job...!

my mom used to sing about "the surry with the fringe on top"...
from "Oklahoma"
http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/oklah...ringeontop.htm

oh, question....
don't ya think picture size of 1,789,222 bytes, @ 2329 x 2304 pixel size is just a bit....I dunno, overkill?
600 x 400 pretty much fills the screen....

edit,
thanks for trimming it.... I was scrolling and scrolling and scrollling...corner to corner....what a hoot.

and thanks for the clip. 'Course, I had to play it.

Funny. Everytime I pass through there that song rings in my head. Good musical....... done back when life seemed much more innocent than it is today.

Sniff.........

NEXT TAG!

Clue #1 The Eastern Virginia Bridge Company considered building a bridge at this location

Clue #2 This location was built in 1936, 1979, 1983, and 1995

Clue #3 It costs more than 8 million dollars to keep it open per year.

That was one obscure little road to try and find in the dark, fog, and rain.

I came in off Rte 10/258 heading towards Newport News. Nothing. Actually turned at the next crossover on to Reynolds and went down it a couple hundred feet, then turned around. Was heading back west again when I pass the yellow Chapman's street sign that looked more like the private vanity types folks stick up for their driveways.

Down to the cross over by the Econo-Lodge to go back. Shoot!!, no cross over there....... continue back to Reynolds, do a you-ee and go back to Chapmans and turn in. Pass over the 2 speedbumps, and there it was. I was hoping it was going to be illuminated on the outside like they do overseas, but that wasn't to be. Bike lights were gonna have to do it.

By that time it was starting to come down pretty good, so I headed to the Econo-Lodge for cover and the nice desk-clerk lady (behind bullet-proof glass) was kind enough to let me sit in their, very small, lobby to post the grab.

Even with solid bars, connection speed was horrible and I spent too much time there trying to get the pix posted.

All a part of the game............
